Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for generating data stream to provide 3D multimedia service is provided to offer a 2D multimedia service regardless of 3D additional information and reference information. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus creates one or more ES(Elementary Stream) among programs for a 2D or a 3D multimedia service(1510). The apparatus creates PMT(Program Map Table) information which includes reference information about one or more ES and 3D additional information(1520).
