PURPOSE: A codebook generating method for a multi-polarized MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) system and a device thereof are provided to effectively offer a codebook by reconfiguring a pre-coding matrix according to a transmission ranking. CONSTITUTION: One pre-coding matrix is selected from one or more stored matrixes(S230). A data stream for being transmitted by using the pre-coding matrix is coded in advance(S240,S250,S260). Diagonal blocks in a plurality of blocks included in the one or more matrixes include matrixes except for zero matrixes. The other blocks except for the diagonal blocks include the zero matrixes. PURPOSE: An adaptive code book creation method is provided to create adaptive code books which maintain unitary features by using a matrix related to statistics of a channel matrix and a basic code book. CONSTITUTION: A transmission apparatus acquires a matrix Ri related to statistics of a channel matrix(310). The transmission apparatus creates second code words corresponding to first code words of a first code book within a group including unitary matrixes(320). The transmission apparatus receives information related to one or more second code words selected by a reception apparatus from the second code words(330). The transmission apparatus previously encodes the code words(370).

PURPOSE: A feedback method in an MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication system and apparatus thereof are provided to predict accurate channel quality indicators by determining a pre-coding matrix based on the pre-coding matrix preferred by a reference rank and a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A terminal grasps a reference rank determined by a base station(510). The terminal selects a first pre-coding matrix preferred by the terminal based on the rank preferred by the terminal(520). The terminal extracts one or more second pre-coding matrixes for one or more neighbor terminals(530). The terminal creates one or more channel quality indicators(540). The terminal transmits the channel quality indicators to the base station(550).

PURPOSE: A multiple input multiple output communication system using a codebook corresponding to each reporting mode is provided to update previously used W by using a second PMI. CONSTITUTION: A first precoding matrix indicator of 3 bit and a second precoding matrix pointer of a single bit are extracted from a memory. The memory stores a second codebook having the size of 1 bit and a first codebook having the size of 3 bit. The first precoding matrix indicator of the 3bit corresponds to the first codeword to the first codebook. The second precoding matrix indicator of 1bit corresponds a second codeword which is included in the second codebook.

PURPOSE: A multiple-input multiple-output communication system of supporting several reporting modes is provided to receives or transmits a precoding matrix indicator generate from a first code book and a second code book. CONSTITUTION: A memory(510) stores a first codebook and a second codebook which is sub sets of a total codebook. A processor(520) generates a corresponding precoding matrix indicator from the first codebook and the second codebook. The processor extracts a precoding matrix corresponding to each of corresponding precoding matrix pointers. A communication interface(530) shares the corresponding matrix indicator generate from a first codebook and second codebook between the transmitter and the receiver.

PURPOSE: A multiple input multiple output communication system for a rotating reference codebook including codedwords of a discrete Fourier transformation codebook is provided to calculate a rotating matrix calculated based on a certain codeword among the codewords included in a discrete Fourier transformation codebook. CONSTITUTION: A selection unit(823) selects a previous preference codeword based on vectorized channel information, and a calculation unit(824) calculates a rotating matrix based on the previous preference codeword. A generating unit(825) generates a new codebook by rotating a reference codebook through the rotating matrix. The generating unit uses the rotating matrix to create a new preference codeword by rotating at least one codeword included in the reference codebook.
