Abstract: PURPOSE: An azo compound for Polaroid film is provided to enable efficient synthesis and high dyeing affinity and to manufacture Polaroid film. CONSTITUTION: An azo compound is denoted by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, X is C or N which enables conjugated bond; and R1, R2, and R3 are hydrogen atom, halogen, sulfonic acid group, nitro group, carboxyl group, aldehyde group, hydroxy group, and alkoxy group of C1-10. Polaroid film contains the azo compound of chemical formula 1. The Polaroid film contains polyvinyl alcohol as a film base.
