PURPOSE: An antibacterial composition containing benzylidene acetone is provided to prevent and treat plant infection due to fungus. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial composition against plant pathogenic fungi contains benzylidene acetone(BZA). The BZA is isolated from Xenorhabdus nematophila K1. The fungi include Phytophthora capsici or Colletotrichum acutatum. The plant is Capsicum. sp. A method for preventing plant diseases comprises a step of contacting the antibacterial composition to the plant fruits, leaves, stems, flowers, or roots in soil.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A novel insecticidal material isolated from entomopathognic bacteria using proline-tyrosine or mixture thereof is provided. CONSTITUTION: An insecticidal material which suppresses insect immunity through phospholipase A2(PLA2) contains cyclo proline-tyrosine(cPY) as an active ingredient. An insecticidal composition for eliminating insects such as moths contains cPY and Bt as an active ingredient. The cPY is isolated from culture liquid of Xenorhabdus nematophila.

PURPOSE: An IT pheromone trap and a manless monitoring system using the same are provided, which enable to recognize generating state of an insect of specific area. CONSTITUTION: An IT pheromone trap comprises: an insect loading box(117) in which a pheromone for tempting insects is built and an induced insect is loaded; a trigger path(116) connected to the insect loading box; sensor units(112,114) which sense insects by using the image pattern recognition method of image sensor to count kinds of the population of the insect loaded in the insect loading box or number of the insect induced through the trigger path; an extrication prevention member(118) preventing the extrication of the insect induced in the insect loading box.

A juvenile hormone or an analogue thereof is provided to inhibit immunity of an insect, thereby being used as a novel biotic pesticide. A method for sterilizing insects is provided to enhance the activity of a conventional biotic pesticide by using the juvenile hormone or the analogue thereof in combination with Bacillus thuringiensis. An agricultural insecticide comprises a juvenile hormone or an analogue thereof, which enhances the activity of a microbial pesticide, and Bacillus thuringiensis, wherein the analogue is pyriproxyfen. To kill insects, the juvenile hormone or the analogue thereof is used together with Bacillus thuringiensis. The juvenile hormone or the analogue thereof is used together with Bacillus thuringiensis in order to sterilize insects.

Novel entomopathogenic nematodes derived from an entomopathogenic nematode of Blitopertha orientalis are provided to show insecticidal effect on pathogenic bacteria, thereby being used as a controlling agent of harmful insects. A Providencia sp. ANU201 derived from an entomopathogenic nematode isolated from Blitopertha orientalis is deposited as a deposition no. KACC91278P on November 22, 2006. A Flavobacterium sp. ANU301 derived from the entomopathogenic nematode isolated from the Blitopertha orientalis is deposited as a deposition no. KACC91279P on November 22, 2006. An agent for controlling harmful insects comprises the Providencia sp. ANU201 or the Flavobacterium sp. ANU301 or a combination thereof.

An environmental pollution valuation method using insect immune physiological markers is provided to secure high reliability of qualitative analysis and a significant quantitative analysis correlation, to qualitatively and quantitatively detect the exposure of environmental pollutants like heavy metals, PCB(Polychlorinated biphenyls), and dioxins, and to analyze the influence of the pollutants on bioindicators and an ecosystem. The environmental pollution valuation method using insect immune physiological markers detects the environmental pollution caused due to PBTs(Persistent, Bioaccumulative, Toxic) by using at least one insect immune reaction selected from blood cell sacculation, activation of phenoloxidase, activation of phospholipase A2, and apoptosis as an environmental pollution bioindicator. The PBTs include a heavy metal, dioxin, and PCB. A larva of spodoptera exigua is used as the test insect.

The parasitism-specific protein 15(PSP15) derived from a polydnavirus is provided to inhibit synthetic capacity of the host insect specific protein, thereby being used in a biological pesticide for improving insecticidal capacity thereof. The PSP15 capable of lowering protein synthetic capacity of insects has more than 90% homology to an amino acid sequence encoded by a PSP15 alpha gene described as SEQ ID : NO. 1 or a PSP15 beta gene described as SEQ ID : NO. 2 and has an E value of 0.006 with circumsporozoite. The insecticide comprises the PSP15 protein as an effective ingredient.
