Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for preparing biofuel is provided to improve productivity and yield of biofuel and remove fermentation suppressor. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing biofuel comprises: a step of preparing saccharification liquid from biomass; a step of preparing saccharification liquid containing carboxylic acid by fermenting the saccharification liquid; a step of treating carboxylic acid chemically to reduce to alcohol. The method further comprises a step of isolating carboxylic acid in the saccharification liquid. The biomass is candy, starch, and lignocelluloses.

CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing glycerol mono-t-butyl ether includes a step of manufacturing the glycerol mono-t-butyl ether by reacting glycerol or a composition containing the glycerol with liquid isobutene in a hydrophobic solvent using a catalyst for etherification. The hydrophobic solvent is an ether-based solvent. The glycerol or the composition containing the glycerol is obtained from by-products of a biodiesel production reaction.
