Abstract: PURPOSE: A conductive cooling type high critical temperature superconducting rotor cooling system is provided to simplify the configuration of the system and prevent a refrigerant leakage. CONSTITUTION: A cooling system comprises a superconducting rotor including a superconducting field coil(102) for generating strong magnetic fields by using the power applied from an external source, and a field coil support(114) for supporting the field coil; a conducting cooling rod(101) inserted into the field coil support so as to cool the field coil; and a cooling unit for cooling the conducting cooling rod. The cooling unit includes a refrigerant storage tank for storing a liquid refrigerant in such a manner that the end of the conducting cooling rod is dipped into the liquid refrigerant; and a freezer for absorbing heat from the evaporative refrigerant stored in the refrigerant storage tank.
