Abstract: PURPOSE: A petri dish having a measuring region with a second thickness which is less than a first thickness of the supporting region is provided to enlarge or measure culture media. CONSTITUTION: A petri dish comprises: a dish(50) which receives culture media and has a bottom(10) and a side wall(30); and a cover(60) which covers the upper portion of the dish. The dish bottom comprises a support area with a first thickness and a measurement area with a second thickness which is less than the first thickness. The dish bottom also has: an inside bottom side which touches the culture media; and an outside bottom side under the inside bottom.
