고속 푸리에 변환(Fast Fourier Transform : FFT) 방법 및 장치가 제공된다. 본 명세서는 시스템에 적용되는 변수를 기초로, FFT 사이즈를 결정하고 버터플라이 연산의 수를 결정하고, 상기 버터플라이 연산의 출력에 이용되는 메모리의 크기를 결정함, 상기 결정한 FFT 사이즈, 버터플라이 연산의 수 및 메모리의 크기를 이용하여 고속 푸리에 변환을 수행함을 포함한다.

PURPOSE: An automatic gain controller, an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) receiver using a QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) method using the device, and a manufacturing method of the device are provided to prevent performance degradation of an OFDM receiver. CONSTITUTION: An automatic gain controller(500) includes a power calculation unit(510) and a gain control unit(520). The power calculation unit calculates power of a signal received from an OFDM receiver. The power calculation unit receives data about IQ coordinate on a constellation map with respect to a modulated signal using a high order QAM method and calculates power of a received signal. The gain control unit controls a gain of the received signal based on the calculated power. The gain control unit controls the gain of the received signal using the inverse of the square root of power. PURPOSE: A public service providing system through a settop box is provided to help the old through a settop box for digital cable broadcasting. CONSTITUTION: A public service managing unit(20) receives an urgent call message. The public service managing unit inquires database based on subscriber identifying information. The subscriber identifying information is included in the received urgent call message. The public service managing unit detects information of a requester who requests an urgent call. The public service managing unit transmits the urgent call message to a public service institute. The urgent call message includes information of the requester.

PURPOSE: An IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) STB(Set Top Box) and a channel switching method thereof are provided to receive and display local broadcasting stream for a blank time created in the channel switching. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting stream receiving unit(110) receives broadcasting stream for local service and broadcasting stream for national service. In the state that the broadcasting stream for national service for a first channel is received, a channel selection signal receiver(120) receives a channel selection signal for a second channel. A channel switching request processor(130) requests channel switching to a network switch.

PURPOSE: A multimedia data transmitting method using variable band width information is provided to decide the transmission parameter according to the variable band width information of a receiving device, and to create the pilot data. CONSTITUTION: A transmitting device(100) receives an abnormal reception response for the multimedia data from a receiving device(300). The transmitting device re-receives the variable bandwidth information from a receiving device(420). The transmitting device varies the transmission parameter(430). The transmitting device creates the pilot data including the varied transmission parameter(440). The transmitting device transmits the pilot data to the receiving device(450). The transmitting device retransmits the multimedia data to the receiving device.

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for an Internet protocol television service to switch a channel are provided to supply user convenience by selecting broadcasting contents of a maximum resolution in priority. CONSTITUTION: A channel switching request processor(510) requests channel switching into a network switch, and a broadcasting stream receiver(520) receives a broadcasting stream of a corresponding channel from a switch. A decoding processor(530) decodes broadcasting contents in priority, wherein the broadcasting contents corresponds to the maximum resolution among broadcasting streams. A broadcasting content transmitter(540) transmits the decoded broadcasting contents to a display device.
