PURPOSE: An N-screen service providing system and a method thereof are provided to enable a plurality of viewers to simultaneously watch a broadcasting program by providing an N-screen service through a video gateway. CONSTITUTION: A head-end transmission system(110) includes a real-time broadcasting system, a two-ways communication system, an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) server, or a stream server. A video gateway(120) receives a broadcasting signal and a communication signal from a head-end transmission system. A video gateway transmits broadcasting content according to the request of a terminal used by a user. A subscriber reception system(130) displays broadcasting content by receiving the broadcasting content from a video gateway. PURPOSE: A sign language broadcasting service providing method and a system thereof are provided to selectively use a mode of watching a broadcasting image and a mode of simultaneously watching a broadcasting image and a sign language interpretation image. CONSTITUTION: A digital broadcasting head-end system encodes a broadcasting image of a broadcasting image encoded into a transport stream(TS) type(500). The system encodes a sign language image of the broadcasting program into a transport stream(501). The system multiplexes the encoded broadcasting image and sign language interpretation image into a single program transport stream(502). PURPOSE: A method for estimating the timing of a symbol used in a cable network communicating with an OFDM method is provided to reduce hardware complexity in an OFDM receiver while maintaining symbol timing estimation performance. CONSTITUTION: An OFDM symbol including a cyclic symbol is received(510). An energy property of the OFDM symbol is calculated by using a pre-established SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio)(520). PURPOSE: A terminal authentication based multi-screen service supplying method and an apparatus thereof are provided to protect broadcasting content which is shared between a main terminal and a client terminal. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting head-end(400) determines whether to permit use of a broadcasting service in a first terminal based on information of a main terminal(410) and a client terminal(420). The broadcasting head-end transmits a broadcasting service use permit message of the main terminal to the client terminal. The client terminal confirms the broadcasting service use permit message.

PURPOSE: A frame construction method for transmitting DOCSIS(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) data and apparatus thereof are provided to minimize the temporal jitter of transmission data and the transmission over head of a downlink PHY(PHYsical) layer. CONSTITUTION: An MAC(Media Access Control) frame division block(201) divides an MAC frame into an MAC management data frame and a user data frame. An input signal processing block(101) previously processes the MAC management data frame and the user data frame. The input signal processing block receives a head-end reference time. CONSTITUTION: A user transmits a preview join message to an SDV(Switched Digital Video) server(S550). The user watches the selected broadcast programs through a preview terminal(S560). In case the user watches the broadcast program through a main-view terminal, the user transmits a main-view join message from SDV system to the preview terminal(S570,S580). The user watches the selected broadcast program through the main-view terminal(S590).
