    Abstract: An iterative receiver and a method for detecting transmitted signal thereof are provided to increase the receiving performance of signals transmitted from a transmitter. An iterative receiver(100) includes an antenna array(110), a signal detector(120), a decoder(130), a soft decision unit(140), a channel estimator(150), a covariance estimator(160), and a hard decision unit(170). The antenna array includes plural receiving antennas, and receives a signal from a transmitter and transmits the signal to the signal detector. The signal detector cancels an interference signal from the received signal and suppresses the residual interference signal through an MMSE(Minimum Mean Squared Error) filter to detect and output a signal corresponding to a plurality of transmitted signals. The decoder calculates an LLR(Log-Likelihood Ratio) by using the output signal of the signal detector, performs a channel decoding process by using the calculated LLR, and outputs a resultant signal. The soft decision unit performs a soft decision process on plural transmitted signals by using the channel decoded signal output by the decoder. The channel estimator estimates the channel, through which the transmitted signals have passed, by using the transmitted signals from the soft decision unit and a received signal. The covariance estimator estimates the covariance on the summed signal of interference and noise by using the transmitted signals from the soft decision unit, channel information from the channel estimator, and the received signal. The hard decision unit determines a plurality of transmitted signals by using the signal output by the decoder after the signal detector, the decoder, the soft decision unit, the channel estimator, and the covariance estimator are iterated a predetermined number of times.

    Abstract: An iterative reception method and an iterative receiver are provided to improve a reception performance by obtaining an accurate channel estimated value by iteratively updating the channel estimated value. An iterative receiver receives signals iteratively transmitted from a plurality of cells, and a channel estimator outputs a channel estimated value obtained by using pilot symbols of the reception signals(S100). If the number of iterative receptions is not a first sequence(S110), an inter-cell parallel interference canceler reduces an inter-cell interference of the reception signal by using spread value of hard decision values of the other remaining cell signals(second cell signals) than its pertinent cell signal, namely, the first cell signal, and outputs the same(S120). An equalizer performs channel equalization corresponding to each subcarrier on the inter-cell interference-reduced signal by using the channel estimated value, and the orthogonality of the corresponding signal is restored and outputted(S130). The orthogonality-restored signal is despread by a despreader and outputted(S140). The despread signal is inputted to a hard decision unit and used to calculate a hard decision value obtained by making a hard decision on a user symbol of the pertinent cell(S150). The hard decision value is re-spread by a hard decision spreader(S160).
