Abstract: Embodiments describe a receiving element that includes a ferromagnetic structure axially symmetrical around a central axis disposed along a length of the ferromagnetic structure. The ferromagnetic structure includes a groove region defining two end regions on opposing sides of the groove region, where the groove region has a smaller length than the two end regions. The receiving element also includes an inductor coil wound about the groove region of the ferromagnetic structure and in between the two end regions.

Abstract: An efficient magnetic assembly having magnetic regions is formed by applying a magnetic field from a magnetizer to predefined portions of a monolithic substrate corresponding to the magnetized regions. In the described embodiment, the magnetic field is of sufficient strength and is applied for a sufficient amount of time to magnetize the corresponding portions of the monolithic substrate. A distance between at least two adjacent magnetized regions corresponding to a neutral zone is determined and based upon the determination, the monolithic substrate is shifted an amount less than the distance corresponding to the neutral zone and the magnetic field is re-applied to at least the shifted portion of the monolithic substrate.

Abstract: A balanced magnetic string and methods for forming same are described. The balanced magnetic string includes at least a plurality of magnetic elements linearly arranged in an alternating magnetic polarity pattern and each comprising a first magnetic volume and a compensating magnetic element having a second magnetic volume that is different than the first magnetic volume. The plurality of magnetic elements and the compensating magnetic element magnetically interact to provide a resultant magnetic field having a desired magnetic field strength at a point of interest.
