Abstract: A base station receives an alert indicating a geofenced area, and determines whether its coverage area is completely within the area. If so, the base station generates/sends a wireless emergency alert (WEA) to user equipment in the coverage area that does not indicate the area. Otherwise, the base station generates/sends a WEA that indicates the area. The base station sends action messages that indicate a periodicity and end time for the user equipment to determine whether its location is within the geofenced area, a lack of service time limit and lack of service action for the user equipment to perform after it has been without cellular service for the lack of service time limit, a lack of location time limit and lack of location action for the user equipment to perform if its location cannot be determined for the lack of location time limit, and/or that the WEA has ended.

Abstract: A mobile device (UE) may access standalone non-public networks (SNPNs) in various different locations as equivalent SNPNs (eSNPNs) corresponding to a home SNPN of the device. The device may obtain a list of eSNPNs corresponding to the home SNPN, and may access a second SNPN at a location different from a location of the home SNPN, in response to identifying the second SNPN and the list including the second SNPN as an eSNPN corresponding to the home SNPN of the device. The eSNPNs may include roaming eSNPNs (ReSNPNs) for accessing an enterprise NPN globally and/or at various different locations. The eSNPN/ReSNPN list may be maintained in a new network identifier management function (NMF). NPNs may be implemented as network slice instances (NSIs) via identifying data in the single network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI). Multiple credentialed SNPNs of a UE may be prioritized for access by the UE.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to handover of WLAN voice calls to one or more cellular networks. In some embodiments, a device is configured to perform voice communications over one or more wireless local area networks, communicate with a first network using a first cellular radio access technology (RAT), and communicate with a second network using a second cellular RAT. The device may store, based on communications via the first network, information indicating that the first network does not support voice communications for the apparatus. The device may handover a voice call from a wireless local network directly to the second cellular RAT, based on the stored information and without handover of the voice call to the first cellular RAT, based on call conditions on the wireless local area network.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for enhancement of multi-SIM devices, such as UE 106. A network may increase paging retries for known MU-SIM devices, e.g., based on an indication of capabilities from a MU-SIM device. The indication may be via a NAS registration request, an RRC capability procedure, and/or an RRC UE assistance procedure. Additionally, a network may include an indication of a paging priority to the UE. The UE may then determine a response to the page based, at least in part, on the indicated priority. Further, the UE may indicate a tune-away to the network. The indication of the tune-away may include a cause and/or duration for the tune-away and may be provided at an RRC level or a network access stratum (NAS) level.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods to support parallel access to services of multiple subscriber identity modules (SIMs) and/or electronic SIMs (eSIMs) by a wireless device are disclosed. The wireless device is a single-radio wireless device that includes wireless circuitry that supports an active voice or video connection via a single radio access network of a cellular wireless network at a time. To send or receive data for a second SIM/eSIM, when an active voice or video connection for a first SIM/eSIM uses the wireless circuitry, the single-radio wireless device can i) establish parallel, linked protocol data unit (PDU) sessions for different SIMs, ii) multiplex traffic for different SIMs over a common radio connection with SIM information embedded in protocol headers for routing by network equipment, and/or iii) use an additional dedicated bearer using a first, active SIM for each data network name (DNN) over which to route for a second, suspended SIM.

Abstract: Manners of controlling a data rate for a user equipment (UE) on a per slice basis by either a core network or a radio access network (RAN). In one exemplary manner, a request is received to establish a new Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session for a network slice for a user equipment (UE), a maximum session throughput value is received for the new PDU session, the maximum session throughput value for the new PDU session is added to an accumulated maximum session throughput value to determine an updated accumulated maximum session throughput value, the updated accumulated maximum session throughput value is compared to a maximum slice throughput value and, when the updated accumulated maximum session throughput value exceeds the maximum slice throughput value, an action is performed related to the new PDU session.

Abstract: An accessory device may dynamically determine to transition a cellular connection between mobile-initiated communication only (MICO) mode and non-MICO mode based on a variety of factors. Abstract: A user equipment (UE) indicates to a network the types of SMS messages that the UE does not support. The network receives an indication from the UE corresponding to one or more types of short message service (SMS) messages that are supported by the UE, receives a SMS that is intended to be delivered to the UE, determines whether to forward the SMS message to the UE based on the indication received from the UE, when the SMS message is a type of SMS message supported by the UE, forwards the SMS message to the UE and, when the SMS message is not a type of SMS message supported by the UE, discards the SMS message.
