Abstract: A method is provided for removing acid gases and ammonia from a fluid stream in which a fluid stream comprising acid gases and ammonia is brought into contact with an aqueous absorption medium. The fluid stream is depleted of acid gases and ammonia and the absorption medium stream, which is charged with acid gases and ammonia, is regenerated in a desorption step. The acid gases and the ammonia are stripped out of the absorption medium and the condensable fractions thereof are condensed. A condensate and also a purified absorption medium stream are obtained. The condensate is ejected in part or completely from the desorption step, or feed in part or completely to a distillation column in which ammonia is separated off overhead as an aqueous solution or in the pure state. A aqueous bottom stream is obtained which is recycled to the absorption step or the desorption step.

The method is particularly suitable for treatment of flue gases and also relates to an absorption agent.

Independent claims are also included for: (1) A method of desorbing acid gases from a loaded absorbent by passing the absorbent over one side of a membrane while passing an inert gas over the other side of the membrane; (2) A floating platform for producing and deacidifying natural gas, suitable for operation on open waters, comprising a natural gas production unit, a membrane unit as above for removing acid gases as above, and optionally a membrane unit for desorbing acid gases from the loaded absorbent.

Abstract: A description is given of the use of an alkylenediamine of the type R 1 HN-X-NHR 2 , where X is an alkylene radical having from 2 to 9 carbons, R 1 is a hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 6 carbons and R 2 is a hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 6 carbons or is hydrogen (H) for removing sour gases from a sour-gas-containing fluid stream, and of a process for deacidifying a fluid stream of this type and a wash liquid or absorption liquid for use in such a process. According to the invention, in at least one absorption step, the fluid stream is brought into intimate contact with a wash liquid, the wash liquid comprising an aqueous amine solution which comprises at least one tertiary aliphatic alkanolamine having from 2 to 12 carbons and an activator of the above type R 1 HN-X-NHR 2 . The fluid stream which is substantially freed from sour gases and the sour-gas-loaded wash liquid are then separated from one another.

Abstract: The invention relates to the use of an alkylene diamine of formula R1HN-X-NHR2, wherein X represents an alkylene radical comprising 2 to 9 C atoms, R1 represents a hydrocarbon radical comprising 1 to 6 C atoms, and R2 represents a hydrocarbon radical comprising 1 to 6 C atoms or a hydrogen atom (H), for removing acid gas from a stream of fluid containing acid gas. The invention also relates to a method for neutralising one such stream of fluid, and a washing or absorption liquid for use in one such method. According to the invention, the stream of fluid is brought into intimate contact with a washing liquid in at least one absorption step, said washing liquid containing an aqueous amine solution which has at least one tertiary aliphatic alkanolamine comprising 2 to 12 C atoms, and an activator of said formula R1HN-X-NHR2. Finally, the stream of fluid which has been extensively cleared of acid gas is separated from the washing liquid which is loaded with acid gas.

Abstract: The absorbent consists of a mixture containing: (a) 1-50 wt.% unsubstituted mono-or bi-cyclic nitrogen heterocycles with 5-14 ring atoms or substituted with OH, 1-3 C alkyl and/or 1-3 C hydroxyalkyl, and 1 or 2 heterocyclically bound nitrogen atoms; (b) 1-60 wt.% mono- and/or multivalent alcohol; (c) 0-50 wt.% aliphatic aminoalcohol; (d) 0-98 wt.% water; and (e) 0-35 wt.% potassium carbonate. Process for removing acidic components, e.g. carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, COS, carbon disulfide and mercaptans from gases comprises contacting the crude gas with an adsorbent obtaining a pure gas deficient in acidic gas components and an absorbent charged with acidic gas components. The absorbent consists of a mixture containing: (a) 1-50 wt.% unsubstituted mono-or bi-cyclic nitrogen heterocycles with 5-14 ring atoms or substituted with OH, 1-3 C alkyl and/or 1-3 C hydroxyalkyl, and 1 or 2 heterocyclically bound nitrogen atoms; (b) 1-60 wt.% mono- and/or multivalent alcohol; (c) 0-50 wt.% aliphatic aminoalcohol; (d) 0-98 wt.% water; and (e) 0-35 wt.% potassium carbonate.
