Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of liquid heteric EO/PO, wherein EO is ethylene oxide and PO is propylene oxide, block copolymers, containing at least 30 % by weight EO, as a tank mix adjuvant for enhancing the weed killing activity of herbicidal formulations.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to detergent compositions containing hydrophilic copolymers of formula (I) wherein x, y, and z are integers, (x + y):z is from about 5:1 to about 1000:1, and y can be any value ranging from zero up to the value of x; M is an alkali metal or hydrogen; R1 is H or CH3; R2 is -COOM, -OCH3, -SO3M, -O-CO-CH3, -CO-NH2; W is selected from residues of formula (II), (III) or (IV) or mixtures of (III) and (IV); wherein R1 is as defined above; R3 is -CH2-O-, -CH2-N-, -COO-, -O-, (1), -CO-NH-; Q is (2), (3) or (4) wherein M is as defined above; a is an integer from 0 to about 516; b is an integer from 0 to about 680; with the proviso that the sum of a + b cannot be 0; R4 is a C3-C4 alkyleneoxy group; and R5 is -CH2-CH2-O-, G and G are end groups.
Abstract:
A novel process described as polytelomerization and novel adhesive compositions are disclosed. Such a process involves the free-radical aqueous emulsion polymerization of at least two batches A and B, with the proviso that: the free-radical aqueous emulsion polymerization of the two batches A and B takes place in one polymerization vessel; the polymerization of batch A commences at a different point in time to that of batch B; and the composition of monomers and chain transfer agent of batch A contains 0-3 % by weight of chain transfer agent and the composition of monomers and chain transfer agent of batch B contains more chain transfer agents than batch A with the proviso that the amount of chain transfer agent in batch B is at least 5 % if the total amount of chain transfer agent in A and in B is less than 2.5 %.
Abstract:
epsilon -Caprolactam is continuously recovered from carpet made from nylon 6 face fibers and a backing. The carpet is fed to a separator to prepare scrap containing nylon 6 and auxiliary materials. The scrap from the separator is fed to a depolymerizing reactor to produce an epsilon -caprolactam containing distillate and more auxiliary materials. The epsilon -caprolactam in the distillate is separated from other volatiles and purified. The auxiliary materials are also recovered or re-used.
Abstract:
An oil and gas well cementing composition has styrene/butadiene latex and a combination of nonionic and anionic surfactants for improved physical properties, especially fluid loss.
Abstract:
A silane-capped polyurethane block copolymer comprising at least one polyester block and at least one polyacrylate block is disclosed. The copolymer can be used in coatings, and is particularly useful as a primer coating, especially as a primer for non-porous surfaces to which adhesives will be applied.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a process for producing an aqueous cathodic electrocoating composition comprising A) mixing i) a powder comprising a dispersion of a pigment in a solid resin, ii) a principal resin, iii) a crosslinker and optionally iv) an additive selected from the group consisting of organic solvents, catalysts, wetting agents, conditioning agents, thickeners, rheology control agents, antioxidants, surfactants, leveling agents and mixtures thereof, B) salting with an acid and C) dispersing in deionized water.
Abstract:
Pigment dispersion resins for use in cathodic electrocoat paint systems are the reaction products of (A) the reaction product of an aromatic diglycidyl ether and a bis-aryl alcohol or aromatic diol; (B) a primary amine which includes a diamine, an amino alcohol, an aminopolyalkoxy alcohol, a fatty amine, or any mixture thereof; and (C) a monoepoxide. In one embodiment, the fatty amine is provided in an effective amount to eliminate the necessity of the inclusion of the monoepoxide.
Abstract:
Air-dry refinish primer compositions containing microparticles have been found to exhibit superior air-dry properties as well as being resistant to solvent attack when a primer-surfacer or topcoat is applied after a short (30 minute or less) dry time of the primer composition.
