    Abstract: The force measuring device has a bolt (11) fitted into a bore (12) with a thin magneto-elastic layer (30) applied to its inside wall, exhibiting a variation in its magneto-electrical characteristics in dependence on the mechanical load applied to the bolt. This is measured via respective coils for each load range, each coil cooperating with a capacitor to form a parallel resonator. The latter are inserted in an evaluation circuit to obtain an approximately linear response characteristic for the applied mechanical load. Pref. the coils have a constant spacing from the magneto-elastic layer in the axial direction of the bore.

    Abstract: A control arrangement, simple in terms of circuitry and construction, for a servomotor has a pressure-medium pump (13), a 3/4-way directional control valve (14) with proportional magnet (19) and restoring spring (20), and a 2-way flow-control valve, acting as pressure balance, at (40). The control spool (18) of the directional control valve (14) can be displaced from a neutral position established by the restoring spring (20) into three positions, specifically a centre position, a "lifting" position and a "lowering" position. In the neutral and centre position, the pressure-medium flow delivered by the pressure-medium pump (13) is conducted in short circuit via feed and return connection (P, T) of the directional control valve (14). In the "lifting" position, the pressure-medium flow is directed to the servomotor (10), in the course of which the pressure difference dropping at a sharp-edged orifice (38) is applied to the inlets (42, 43) of the flow-control valve (40) to regulate the pressure-medium flow independently of load. In the "lowering" position, the pressure-medium flow is directed in a choked manner from the servomotor (10) and to the return (25) (Fig. 1).

    Abstract: What is proposed is an operating part (22) for the input of regulating quantities in an electrohydraulic lifting-unit regulating device (11) of a tractor (10), in which not only the basic settings for lift-out, desired value and mode of regulation, but additional settings are possible in three operating axes (34, 35, 36) by means of appropriately arranged adjusting elements (41 to 46). The second adjusting element (42) is arranged on a second, middle operating axis (35) as a handy operating knob for desired-value input which uses the same scale (51) together with the coaxial fourth adjusting element (44) for limiting the end position of the lifting unit (19) in the upward direction and clearly indicates the range between desired value and limitation. The order of priority of the end-position limitation on the fourth adjusting element (44) before a lower end-position limitation by the first adjusting element (41) working proportionally and of the latter before the desired value of the second adjusting element (42) allows an appropriate functional setting of the working range for the regulating device (11).

    Abstract: Toggle lever drive consists of levers connected together by pins. One of these pins is constructed as a transmitter operating on the magnetoelastic principle and contains a cavity, in which a magnetic core equipped with one or more coils is housed. Pref. the magnetic core has arms or branches carrying one prim. coil and one or more sec. coils, esp. at right angles to one another. The bisector of the angle is virtually perpendicular to the direction of action of the force. Useful in mould closure mechanisms in plastics injection moulding, where it is important that a given closure force shall not be exceeded. The detector system operates on the principle of measuring, by magneto-elastic effect, the shear force in the pin and transmitting it electrically to a control device. This is considerably simpler than other systems in which the stress in a lever is estimated from a strain gauge. Virtually no additional equipment other than the specially constructed pin is reqd.

    Abstract: An electro-fluidic signal converter has a body provided with an inlet and two outlets for pressure fluid. The body is composed of a pair of outer non-magnetic plates and a plurality of laminated-together inner magnetizable plates which are fluid-tightly sandwiched between the outer plates. The inner plates have respective plate portions which together constitute a body section that is resiliently deflectable out of a neutral position, and this body section is formed with a fluid channel which communicates with the inlet and has a discharge orifice that communicates equally with both of the outlets when the body section is in its neutral position. An electromagnet is located adjacent the body and is energizable to thereby deflect the body section out of its neutral position to one of a plurality of operated positions in which the discharge orifice communicates preferentially with one of the outlets. A method of making the body is also disclosed.
