Abstract: The invention comprises compounds of the formula wherein SCN represents a thiocyanato group and R1, R2 and R3 represent identical or different alkyl radicals containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms. The compounds are prepared by reacting the corresponding mercapto compounds of the formula with substantially the equimolecular quantity of a cyanogen halide in the presence of a liquid such as water, alcohols or ketones, or mixtures thereof. Examples are given. The compounds may be used as fungicides and/or herbicides (see also Group VI).ALSO:Fungicidal and/or herbicidal compositions comprise at least one triacine compound of the general formula (see Group IV (b)) as active constituent. Specified compositions are solutions in organic solvents, suspensions or emulsions in water together with emulsion stabilizers, deposits on solid carriers which may also incorporate adhesives, e.g. casein, glue or alginates, and pastes or powders which may be subsequently used to form a suspension in water. Wetting agents, emulsifiers and stabilizers may be added and other herbicidal and/or insecticidal substances, and fertilizers, may be incorporated in the compositions. Specified wetting agents are turkey red oils, salts of fatty acids, alkyl sulphonates and sulphates, salts of resinic acid, polyethylene ethers of fatty alcohols, fatty acids, fatty amines, quaternary ammonium compounds, lignin sulphonic acid, gelatine and casein.
