Abstract:
A temperature sensor assembly (30) is provided for an electrical heating arrangement (2). The temperature sensor assembly (30) comprises: a thin substantially planar substrate (32) having an upper surface (34) provided with a temperature-sensitive electrical resistance element (38) of film form, and a lower surface (64), the temperature-sensitive electrical resistance element (38) being provided with electrical connecting leads (40, 42). A support member (54) has an upper surface (60) adapted to receive the substantially planar substrate (32) with the lower surface (64) of the substrate (32) juxtaposed therewith. Thermal insulation means (62) is interposed between at least the lower surface (64) of the substantially planar substrate (32) and the support member (54) at least at a region where the temperature-sensitive electrical resistance element (38) is provided.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for removing an oil contaminant from the surface of an aqueous solution, comprising manually controlling a surface skimmer from a remote location to remove a layer or a batch of an oil contaminant from an oil-aqueous solution mixture by the skimmer, where the aqueous solution is contaminated by the oil as a result of an industrial process. The present invention also provides a system for carrying out the method, which comprises a surface skimmer, a collection means which is preferably a separator, a conduit connecting the skimmer to the collection means in an airtight fashion, and means for creating negative pressure in the skimmer, where the skimmer is capable of manual control from a remote location.
Abstract:
A magnetic deflection amplifier implemented using a linear amplifier connected to a first side of a deflection coil and a three pole switch connected to a second side of the deflection coil. The three pole switch connects the coil to ground during the active scan and connects the coil to a positive or negative high voltage rail depending of the polarity of the retrace current resulting in fast retrace time and reduced voltage requirements on the linear amplifier.
Abstract:
The resistance to internal charring of molded styrene-butadiene latex foam rubber when exposed to a lit cigarette is improved by incorporating from about 10 to 30 parts by dry weight, per hundred parts by dry weight of latex of a compound selected from the group consisting of an organic phosphate of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a C.sub.6-12 alkyl radical or a phenyl radical, which is unsubstituted or substituted by a C.sub.1-4 alkyl radical, butyl benzyl phthalate, and a mixture thereof.
Abstract:
A spark plug and method of construction thereof is provided. The spark plug includes a metal shell having a through cavity, a lower insulator and a plastic upper insulator. The lower insulator is received in the through cavity and has a through passage with a center electrode received therein. A ground electrode is operatively attached to the shell in spaced relation from the ground electrode to provide a spark gap. The plastic upper insulator has a distal end received in the through cavity of the shell and a terminal end extending axially outwardly from the shell. The upper insulator has a through passage extending between the terminal end and the distal end. An elongate conductive member is received in the through passage of the upper insulator and is configured for electrical communication with the center electrode.
Abstract:
Cooking apparatuses are disclosed for evenly cooking a variety of foods over a grilling surface with heat being radiated and/or reflected from a plurality of surfaces. In particular, the cooking apparatus is suitable for grilling a variety of foods such as meats, poultry and vegetables in a vertical rack to more evenly cook such foods.
Abstract:
An automated method for securing a target system is provided. In this method, a request to change an entity in the target system is detected. The target system has an existing security profile or one is created. As a result, a security configuration group associated with the changed entity is constructed. The security configuration group is then fused with the existing security profile to form a unified security profile, and the unified security profile is prosecuted onto the target system. Other methods and a system for securing the target system are also described.
