    Abstract: A wireless communication device (14) (e.g., a user equipment) in a wireless communication system (10) is configured for transmitting a random access preamble signal (16). The wireless communication device (14) in particular is configured to generate a random access preamble signal (16) that comprises multiple symbol groups (18), with each symbol group (18) on a single tone during a different time resource, according to a frequency hopping pattern that hops the random access preamble signal (16) a fixed frequency distance at one or more symbol groups (18) and hops the random access preamble signal (16) a pseudo random frequency distance at one or more other symbol groups (18). Each symbol group (18) comprises one or more symbols. The wireless communication device (14) is also configured to transmit the random access preamble signal (16).

    Abstract: A user equipment (16) is configured for operation in a narrowband wireless communication system (10). The user equipment (16) is configured to detect receipt of a narrowband positioning reference signal (20) that comprises a narrowband reference signal sequence. The narrowband reference signal sequence is a subsequence of a wideband reference signal sequence. The wideband reference signal sequence is configured for a wideband frequency bandwidth that is wider than a maximum frequency bandwidth defined for the narrowband wireless communication system (10). The user equipment (16) is also configured to perform a positioning measurement using the narrowband positioning reference signal (20).

    Abstract: Se proporcionan sistemas y métodos para determinar relaciones de temporización configurable y parámetros operativos. En algunas formas de realización, un método para operar un dispositivo inalámbrico en un sistema inalámbrico incluye determinar información sobre retardo por propagación de ida y vuelta entre el dispositivo inalámbrico y el nodo de red. Esta información de retardo por propagación de ida y vuelta puede estar cuantificada o ser cualquier otro valor indicativo de tal retardo. El método también incluye determinar un parámetro operativo de solicitud de retransmisión automática híbrida (HARQ, Hybrid Automatic Retransmission Request) en base a la información de retardo por propagación de ida y vuelta entre el dispositivo inalámbrico y el nodo de red. De ese modo, se amplía la solicitud HARQ para que funcione en los despliegues con grandes retardos por propagación de ida y vuelta, como es el caso en los sistemas satelitales. Esto puede aumentar el rendimiento y confiabilidad de la transmisión de datos.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses of resource allocation for wireless communication are presented. In an example, a user equipment (12) may contain radio circuitry and processing circuitry such that the user equipment (12) is configured to obtain a set of multiple indices, where each index in the set of multiple indices corresponds to a different uplink resource allocation from a set of uplink resource allocations (11) formed from twelve contiguous subcarriers. In an aspect, the set of uplink resource allocations (11) includes an allocation of the twelve contiguous subcarriers, two allocations of six contiguous subcarriers, four allocations of three contiguous subcarriers, and twelve allocations of a single subcarrier. In a further aspect, the user equipment (12) can receive an index indication corresponding to an index from the set of multiple indices from the base station (10). Also, the user equipment (12) can transmit data to the base station (10) using the resource allocation corresponding to the received index indication.
