In more detail, an interlayer prediction is capable of being performed by considering a characteristic of each layer by separating a spatial and quality reference layer list constituted by spatial and quality layers to be referred at the same view as a target layer and a view reference layer list constituted by the same spatial and quality layers as a target layer in encoding and decoding encoding and decoding pictures of an higher layer in encoding and decoding encoded and decoded pictures of the higher layer to improve encoding and decoding efficiency.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for image encoding/decoding that support a plurality of layers. The method for image decoding that supports a plurality of layers includes decoding information of a first layer which a picture of a second layer including a current decoding target block refers to; mapping the information of the first layer to a picture size of the second layer, configuring a reference picture list for the picture of the second layer by adding the mapped information of the first layer and generating prediction samples of the current decoding target block by predicting the current decoding target block of the second layer based on the reference picture list, and the information of the first layer includes at least one of a sample value and motion information of the first layer picture.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for image encoding/decoding. The image decoding method which supports a plurality of layers according to the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a bitstream including inter-layer switching time information that indicates whether inter-layer switching from a first layer to a second layer is possible; and decoding the bitstream based on the inter-layer switching time information. The inter-layer switching time information includes information on the layer switching picture (LSP) of the time when inter-layer switching is possible. The information on the layer switching picture is induced from the network abstraction layer (NAL) unit type parsed from the bitstream.
