Shaped articles made thereof can be used for materials with antistatic finish, electrical and electronic housings, toys and helmet inlays.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of thermoplastic moulding compounds, in particular for the production of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), wherein at least a first reagent (11) and a second reagent (12) of the thermoplastic moulding compounds are fed to a loop conduit (29) which comprises a static mixer (36), wherein the reagents (11, 12) are pressed in loops through the loop conduit (29) and passing the static mixer (36), whereby the reagents (11, 12) are dispersed to form a dispersion (15) in the static mixer (36). The invention also relates to a thermoplastic moulding compound that is produced by the inventive process.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a thermoplastic fibre composite containing a thermoplastic moulding compound (A) as a polymer-matrix (M), reinforcement fibres (B), and optionally additive (C). Said method comprises the following steps: i) flat structures (F) made from reinforcing fibres (B) treated with a silane sizing material are provided, ii) the flat structures (F) are placed in a thermoplastic molding compound (A) which comprises at least 0.3 mol %, with respect to components (A), of a chemically reactive functionality, iii) chemically reactive groups of the thermoplastic molding compound (A) are reacted in the polymer matrix (M) with the polar groups of the treated reinforcing fibres (B), iv) the at least one additive (C) is optionally incorporated v) cooling. Said method is particularly suitable for producing fibrous composites.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a process for producing a ABS composition comprising 30-80 wt.-% of copolymer matrix A, 19.99-60 wt.-% of ABS-copolymer B, 0-40 wt.-% of polymer C and 0.01-20 wt.-% of additives D, having the steps: a) mixing the components A, B and D and optionally C, by using an extruder comprising: a first feeding zone FZ1, a mechanical dewatering zone DZ, in which component B is mechanically dewatered, and wherein: the mechanical dewatering zone DZ comprises at least one dewatering aperture, in particular for liquid water, wherein the mechanical dewatering DZ zone comprises one or more elements made of a stainless steel material; in a second feeding zone FZ2, at least part of component A and optionally part of component D are fed, preferably in melt and/or solid form, to the extruder, in a degassing zone DG component A and/or component B are degassed, and b) removing the ABS molding composition from a discharge zone CZ of the extruder.
