Abstract:
A method and apparatus detects the presence of a fluorescent tracer dye, a change in capacitance, or a change in fiber optic electrical properties to determine whether or not a TCP gun has fired. The method and apparatus detects the number of charges fired to determine whether or not all TCP guns have fired and also determines the contributions of injection wells to producing wells by introducing fluorescent tracers into injection wells and detecting the presence of the fluorescent tracers at production wells. The invention places fluorescent dye particles in a gravel pack to sense when a gravel pack is deteriorating by detecting the tracer dye particles in the well flow.
Abstract:
An office-type chair which includes a seat assembly and back assembly that are pivotally supported on a chair base or pedestal to support a user thereon. To increase the comfort of the user, the seat assembly is tiltable forwardly and rearwardly by way of a tilt control mechanism while the back assembly thereof is tiltable laterally from side to side, i.e. in the leftward and rightward directions by way of a back torsion mechanism.
Abstract:
A brass wind instrument is disclosed which has substantially the same range as a French Horn but has a forward facing bell for greater projection. Further, the bell is substantially that of a tenor trombone. The instrument includes a rotary valve for changing the key from an F-alto to a B-flat.The instrument includes a French Horn lead pipe.
Abstract:
Sound attenuation devices are provided that may be temporarily worn in a person's ear. The devices generally include a first flange that is configured to be disposed in a person's ear; a second flange that is positioned proximate to the first flange and is also configured to be disposed in the person's ear (with the second flange having a proximate end that exhibits an oblong perimeter); and a cylindrical shaft extending from an interior portion of the second flange. The shaft includes an integrally connected pull tab; it extends beyond the proximate end of the second flange; and the shaft includes an integrally formed reinforcing member that spans an exterior side of the shaft and at least a portion of the pull tab. The devices further include a sound filter disposed within an internal cavity of the shaft.

Abstract:
A computer-based interactive fantasy sports gaming system that enables players to create a fantasy sports team for virtual participation. The fantasy gaming system implements and manages gaming sessions that correspond to and last for a single real-world sporting event. A user-interface is provided to facilitate athlete selection under constraints that limit the overall pool of athlete candidates to just those participating in the corresponding real-world event, and that limit teams to a smaller subset of the athletes participating in the real-world event. The gaming system is fully integrated with social media channels such as, without limitation, Twitter®, Google+®, and Facebook®, through which players can challenge, communicate and play with their friends.
Abstract:
Seat belt web retractors and associated systems and methods are described herein. Web retractors assemblies configured in accordance with various embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, a frame having a first sidewall and a second sidewall opposite the first sidewall, and a spring-loaded shaft extending between the first and second sidewalls. The web retractor can further include a locking mechanism positioned proximate to the first sidewall of the frame and operably coupled to the shaft. The locking mechanism can include a vehicle inertia sensor and/or a web inertia sensor. A cover can enclose the locking mechanism such that the cover and the first sidewall form a liquid-sealed enclosure around the locking mechanism.
