Abstract:
Maintenance of plural active file systems, wherein each of the active file systems initially access data shared with another of the active file systems, and wherein changes made to each of the active file systems are not reflected in other active file systems. When a second active file system is created based on a first active file system, the first active file system and the second active file system initially share data. When changes are made to the first active file system, modified data is recorded in the first active file system in a location that is not shared with the second active file system. When changes are made to the second active file system, modified data is recorded in the second active file system in a location that is not shared with the first active file system. Also, creation of the plural active file systems.
Abstract:
A liquid product carrying plastic film pouch having a straw which is free-floating in the liquid product, is described. The liquid product contained within the inner chamber of the pouch occupies from about 60% to about 90% of the volume of the inner chamber sufficient to permit the side walls of the pouch to be collapsed against one another when the pouch is grasped by the hand of a user person whereby to orient the straw at a desired location. The pouch is made of a multilayer resin film having an inner sealant layer formed of a linear low density ethylene-octene copolymer or very low density ethylene copolymer (octene or other copolymers) such that when the straw punctures the film, the inner sealant layer forms a membrane about the straw which exhibits a self-sealing behavior so as to prevent leakage in the punctured region as liquid is extracted from the pouch through the straw.
Abstract:
Automatically and repeatedly crawling multiple multimedia websites to identify and collect information about the multimedia content that is available for delivery over the Internet to a client device for playback on a media player operating on the client device. In one embodiment, the method normalizes the collected information by converting the different formats of the collected information into a common format and converting the different nomenclatures of the collected information into a common nomenclature. The method updates an index with the normalized information, and sends a data feed to the client device to populate the user interface on the client device with the normalized information of the index. The user interface allows the user to navigate and select the multimedia content that is available for delivery over the Internet for playback on the media player.
Abstract:
The invention provides systems and methods for securely transmitting data between a roaming computer and a managed network service over a shared public network. A secure connection is created between the roaming computer and a server computer that hosts or acts as a secure gateway to the managed network service. The connection is set up and established by a client agent installed on the roaming computer and a connection component of the managed service on the server computer. The client agent and the connection component of the managed service operate, on an initial request from the roaming computer to the managed service to negotiate the secure connection using certificate-based client authentication. The client certificate preferably includes user-specific attributes that can be extracted by the connection component and made available to the managed service to apply processing rules specific to the user.
Abstract:
An apparatus, method, and computer program product for providing information for surgical planning based on automated biomechanical analysis of a bone-implant system using finite element analysis of a patient's 3D medical image, including automated biomechanical analysis of bone-implant systems for use in surgical planning both pre-operatively and intra-operatively and for use in research and development studies.
Abstract:
Example methods and apparatus to perform stress testing of geological formations are disclosed. A disclosed example downhole stress test tool for pressure testing a geological formation comprises first and second packers selectively inflatable to form an annular region around the tool, a container configured to store a fracturing fluid, wherein the fracturing fluid is different than a formation fluid and a drilling fluid, a pump configured to pump the fracturing fluid into the first and second packers to inflate the first and second packers and to pump the fracturing fluid into the annular region to induce a fracture of the geological formation, and a sensor configured to detect a pressure of the fracturing fluid pumped into the annular region corresponding to the fracture of the geological formation.
Abstract:
A hydrocarbon well treatment fluid is made recyclable by introducing a laminar flow enhancer into the fluid, resulting in a formulation called Slick Oil™ hydrocarbon fluid. A method of using a fluid in the treatment of a hydrocarbon reservoir is disclosed. A hydrocarbon fluid is injected into the hydrocarbon reservoir, the hydrocarbon fluid comprising hydrocarbons and a hydrophobic laminar flow enhancer. The hydrocarbon fluid is recovered from the hydrocarbon reservoir. The recovered hydrocarbon fluid is then cleaned by removing contaminants from the recovered hydrocarbon fluid that have been introduced into the hydrocarbon fluid from the hydrocarbon reservoir. The hydrocarbon fluid is then re-used by injecting the cleaned and recovered hydrocarbon fluid into at least one subsequent hydrocarbon reservoir. Proppant carrying abilities of a hydrocarbon fracturing fluid are enhanced by introducing a laminar flow enhancer into the fluid, resulting in a formulation called Slick Oil™ hydrocarbon fluid.
Abstract:
The invention relates to checkpointing memory. In one aspect, a processor directs a write request to a location within a first memory. The write request includes at least a data payload and an address identifying the location. An inspection module identifies the write request before it reaches the first memory, copies at least the address identifying the location, and forwards the write request to a memory agent within the first memory.
Abstract:
An equipment-carrying crawler (20) includes a rolling track (44) and a structural support (70). The structural support (70) supports equipment (16). Lifting magnets (72) are coupled to the rolling track (44) and to the structural support (70). The lifting magnets (72) are configured to oppose each other, lift the structural support (70), and aid in the translation of the rolling track (44).
Abstract:
A method of installing a sensor located in a chamber on the out-side of a casing, comprising the steps of positioning the casing in a well, cementing the casing in position, positioning a drilling tool inside the casing level with the chamber, drilling through the casing, chamber and cement into the formation surrounding the well so as to create a fluid communication path, and sealing the hole drilled in the casing.
