Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a practically nonporous vitrified carbonaceous material contg. no closed pores by providing a specified composition to a thermosetting resin as a starting material so that it can retain a specified wt% of water in the state of a precondensation product before curing. CONSTITUTION:A thermosetting resin capable of retaining >=20wt% water in the state of a precondensation product before curing is carbonized and calcined at >=800 deg.C in an inert atmosphere to manufacture a vitrified carbonaceous material. The thermosetting resin is a condensation resin consisting of 15-40mol% phenol, 15-35mol% furfuryl alcohol and 30-55mol% formalin.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance and lubricity of a magnetic coated film layer and to prevent wear of a magnetic head by incorporating vitreous carbon powder having a specific average single particle size into magnetic powder at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:Vitreous carbon powder having 0.1-2.0mum average single particle size is incorporated into magnetic powder at 0.5-15pts.wt. said powder to form a magnetic layer. The vitreous carbon refers to the vitreous carbon obtd. by carbonizing a thermosetting resin, the vitreous carbon obtd. by carbonizing the resin which is so modified by copolymerization or cocondensation so as to be thermally set or the vitreous carbon obtd. by hampering crystallization in the process of curing or carbonization and the vitreous carbon obtd. by thermally decomposing a low mol.wt. hydrocarbon or the like such as methane in a vapor phase. Fine needlelike metallic oxide such as gamma-Fe2O3, Fe3O4, CrO2 and others are enumerated as the magnetic powder.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make specular surface work possible, to obtain heat resistance and superior surface smoothness and to improve corrosion resistance while reducing the weight of a substrate by making the substrate of a glassy carbon material polymer or compound material polymer containing glassy carbon material. CONSTITUTION:For example, the glassy carbon material which has 1.50 apparent specific gravity, 110 Shore hardness, and a 3X10 deg.C coefficient of thermal expansion is cut into a shape having a 130mm. diameter and 2mm. thickness, and its surface is polished roughly with alumina powder of 1mum grain size and further polished lastly with alumina powder of 0.25mum grain size to obtain a specular surface. This is dipped in freon of about 20 deg.C for 10min for cleaning the surface, and the disk substrate is thus completed. This substrate has heat resistance and plane smoothness and allows the manufacture of the magnetic disk for high density recording without any special treatment of the surface, and the corrosion resistance and chemical stability are superior.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the handling property by providing unevenness whose mean roughness is not less than a specified value on the surface of a film to eliminate entanglement between films without damaging the excellent flexibility and adhesivity. SOLUTION: Unevenness is provided on a surface of a film. The uneven pattern is not limited, and the uneven pattern at random or specified intervals is acceptable. The degree of unevenness (roughness) is approximately not less than 40 nm, preferably approximately, 40 nm to 1 mm, especially preferably, approximately 200 nm to 1 mm in mean roughness (Ra value) measured by using a stylus type surface roughness needle under the condition of approximately 5 μm of stylus size and approximately 50 mg in stylus pressure. In a non- extended condition, the film surface is uneven, the adhesivity is not present between films, and the films are not entangled with each other, and the handling property is excellent. During the wrapping, the film is expanded, its unevenness is not present, and the adhesivity and flexibility specific to the film are restored.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate cutting of wrap film having an extensible property in both lengthwise and breadthwise directions and secure safety on handling the film by forming a cutter to have a cutter blade in which notches having a specified length are formed at every specified distance. SOLUTION: Notches 9 are formed in a cutter 7 to have a specified length at every specified distance in the drawing direction of a wrap film. The wrap film having an extensible property in both lengthwise and breadthwise directions can be easily cut by the cutter 7 provided with the notches 9. The wrap film is not twisted or cut. The wrap film can be easily cut from one direction by tilting the notches 9 against the drawing direction. Further, as the cutter is not sharp, users do not get hurt by the cutter blade. Hence, safety on handling it can be secured.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain wrapping film that is effective for preserving freshness while being excellent in adhesiveness to containers or between films positioned face to face and especially in adhesiveness to wet containers by a method wherein a base film having water absorbency is made to contain viscosity-giving agent and surface-active agent. SOLUTION: A wrapping film to be used at heating foods by microwave ovens or at storing food under refrigeration or freezing is made up of a water- absorbing base film with viscosity-giving agent and surface-active agent that is compatible with both of the base film and the viscosity-giving agent provided. Content of the viscosity-giving agent shall be 0.0001-1 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the base film and content of the surface-active agent shall be 0.0001-1 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the base film. Any special limits are not placed on materials to be used as the base film, but nonhydrophilic film, water-absorbing film or the like can be used, and the base film is preferably made of cellophane and/or polyvinyl alcohol.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cooking sheet which is excellent in air permeability, water resistance, oil resistance and transparency, and can be simply manufactured to have good productivity by applying silicon resin or fluorocarbon resin to at least one side of cellophane. SOLUTION: A cooking sheet used in wrapping food or cooking food in an oven or the like to be placed thereon is manufactured by applying silicon or fluorocarbon resin to at least one side of cellophane. At this time, the cellophane used is not especially limited, and ordinary cellophane known as a cellulosic film. As silicon resin stacked on the cellophane, to be concrete, hydrolyzed material such as simethyldichrosilane or the like and a polymer are cited, but preferably the silicon resin is crosslinked. As the fluorocarbon resin, material mainly composed of a perphloroalkanol derivative or the like is cited, and preferably the fluorocarbon resin is also crosslinked.
