An information distribution service system includes a mobile terminal device with a communication part and another terminal device connected to the mobile terminal device via the communication part. The mobile terminal device includes a server function part that provides information to another terminal device; an email control part that sends information, regarding an access method for accessing the information with another terminal device, to another terminal device via an email; and a server access control part that operates the server function part so as to start processing for providing the information when another terminal device makes an access according to the access method.

To provide the safety of preventing the illicit use of others by using a state as to whether or not the essential function of the device is not in use in locking the terminal to prohibit the use. A user terminal 10 makes a determination whether or not a device unit 20 is in a use state, the terminal unit 10 is locked after a predetermined second time from a last operation signal from the device unit 20, if the device unit 20 is not in use, irrespective of the network connection.

To provide a communication system including a mobile terminal which can prevent leak of information even if the mobile terminal is lost and reproduce previously accumulated confidential data without losing newly created and updated confidential data. A mobile terminal includes connection state judging device which detects a line connection state with a server. When the line connection state is a broadband connection, the data is read directly from and written directly into a data storing device of the server. When the line connection state is a narrowband connection, the data is temporarily read out and written into a data storing device of the terminal. When the operation of the mobile terminal is completed or a security operation starting instruction is issued by a user, the updated confidential data is written into the data storing device of the server and then the confidential data is erased from the mobile terminal.

A user authentication apparatus is disclosed by which, even where biometrics input data of some user such as a fingerprint are low in quality and are not suitable for verification, the security of the entire system can be augmented without giving rise to increase of the cost by introduction of significant additional hardware. When a fingerprint verifying characteristic extraction section discriminates that the quality of an image of a fingerprint is insufficient or when authentication based on an inputted fingerprint by a user verification result determination section results in failure, a request to input a fingerprint is issued from a fingerprint inputting request section to the user. When necessary fingerprint inputting is performed from a fingerprint inputting section, substitute authentication by a substitute authentication section is permitted. A result of the substitute authentication by the substitute authentication section is displayed on a service permission or rejection display section. The image inputted from a fingerprint inputting section or the fingerprint inputting section is stored into a substitute authentication means user information storage section.
