Abstract: Un acoplador de tubería de irrigación puede acoplar un extremo abierto de una tubería de irrigación con su extremo delantero. El acoplador tiene una boquilla y un collar exterior. La boquilla tiene una lengüeta que se proyecta hacia afuera y el collar rodea la boquilla y tiene una protuberancia que se proyecta internamente. El collar se mueve deslizablemente a lo largo de la boquilla entre las posiciones terminales delantera y posterior mientras se mantiene separado radialmente hacia afuera de la boquilla mediante un espacio libre periférico que se redefine por cada nueva posición del collar a lo largo de la boquilla. En cada una de tales nuevas posiciones el espacio libre tiene una región estrecha medida en la dirección radial en donde el collar se encuentra más cercano a la boquilla y la región estrecha se hace más pequeña al menos durante parte del movimiento delantero del collar a lo largo de la boquilla.
