PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral membrane element which enables an efficient discharge of an insoluble element contained in a supply liquid as a concentrated liquid while suppressing a decrease in effective membrane area, and to provide a spiral membrane module. SOLUTION: The spiral membrane element 1 comprises a wound body R formed by winding a singular or a plurality of transmission side flow passage materials 3, supply side flow passage materials 6, and separating membranes 2 around a perforated central tube 5, and further includes an upstream side end member 10 provided at the upstream side of the wound body R for guiding the insoluble element contained in the supply liquid 7 to the outer periphery side. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and low cost method for preparing a semipermeable composite membrane having an excellent stain resistance and particularly an excellent microbial contamination resistance, and a semipermeable composite membrane prepared by the method. SOLUTION: The method for preparing a semipermeable composite membrane comprises the process of forming a skin layer comprising a polyamide resin prepared by causing a polyfunctional amine component and a polyfunctional acid halide component to react with each other on the surface of a porous support, the process of forming a polymer layer A comprising a silver salt compound directly over the skin layer or via another layer, and the process of precipitating metallic silver within the polymer layer A and/or on the surface thereof by reducing the silver salt compound. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral-type film element capable of not only improving the barrier property of a fiber reinforcing resin layer using a fiber winding as a reinforcing phase but also effectively preventing the occurrence of crack. SOLUTION: The spiral-type film element comprises a cylindrical winding body (R) having a stack of a separation film, a supply side flow channel member, and a transmission side flow channel member wound in a spiral around a perforated center tube (5) and a sealing portion for preventing a supply side fluid and a transmission side fluid from mixing with each other. In this spiral-type film element, a fiber-reinforced resin layer (26) using a fiber winding as a reinforcing phase is formed on the outer side of the cylindrical winding body (R), and a plastic layer (24) is provided inside or on the inner side of the fiber-reinforced resin layer (26) over the substantially entire length and periphery of the fiber-reinforced resin layer (26). Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral type separation membrane element capable of suppressing pressure loss in a channel in the supply side and giving high operation efficiency and good filtered water quality owing to a sufficient effect for suppressing concentration polarization. SOLUTION: The spiral type separation membrane element comprises a separation membrane, a channel material in the supply side, and a channel material in the filtered side which are rolled around a hollow center pipe having holes. The channel material in the supply side is composed of warp yarns 1 parallel to the flow direction of the supplied liquid and weft yarns 2 crossing the flow direction of the supplied liquid, wherein both yarns are entwisted at a crossing angle θ of 20 to 80° and have the ratio (L1/L2) of the intervals L1 of the warp yarns and the intervals L2 of the weft yarns in a range from 1.3 to 2.0, and the intervals L1 of the warp yarns is 5 mm or wider.
