Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disc with signals of three-dimensional video and high-resolution images recorded thereon and a system for reproducing data on the disc, which are compatible with a conventional system for reproducing ordinary resolution images. SOLUTION: A first image signal and a second image signal are divided into groups of frames of one GOP or more. For interleave blocks laterally and alternately recorded on an optical disc 1, a three-dimensional, high-resolution image-compatible reproducing device reproduces both first and second interleave blocks to provide a three-dimensional image or a high-resolution image. The three-dimensional, high-resolution image-incompatible reproducing device also reproduces only one of the first and second interleave blocks by jumping tracks, thus providing an ordinary resolution image. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve compatibility with a conventional system for reproducing ordinary videos in an optical disk in which stereoscopic videos and high-quality video signals are recorded and a system for reproducing the optical disk. SOLUTION: The reproducing device which is used for reproducing stereoscopic videos and high-quality videos obtains stereoscopic videos or high-quality videos by reproducing both first and second interleaved blocks recorded on the optical disk 1 in which first and second video signals are alternately recorded on the right and left sides by dividing the first and second video signals into frame groups of one GOP or more; and a reproducing device which is not used for reproducing the stereoscopic videos and high-quality videos obtains ordinary videos by only reproducing either the first or second interleaved block by jumping tracks. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique solving problems according to which conventional information recording and playback methods take much time due to alternative processing on a region physically distant from a defect region on a disk, thereby causing problems such as disturbances in video and audio when recording and playback of audiovisual data. SOLUTION: According to the present invention, a defect region detected at the time of recording is skipped, recording is performed on a following normal region, and file management information manages the defect region. In order to manage the defect region by the file management information, positional information on the defect region skipped during recording is stored, and the positional information is registered in the file management information after the recording. That feature allows recording and playback without a conventional seek for an distant alternative region even if the defect region exists during the time of recording or playback, thereby enhancing availability to uses requiring real-time performance such as recording and playback of audiovisual data.
