SOLUTION: A power unit and control electronics are permanently operated even in a stand-by mode, and large power consumption is needed in a conventional device. This stand-by circuit, electric device equipped with the stand-by circuit, method for controlling the electric device, and power source assembly make it possible to save energy by switching off a power source unit in the stand-by mode, and to provide resolutions for maintaining convenient functions. Preferentially, the stand-by circuit to which a power is supplied from an energy buffer (storage) element remains active even in the stand-by mode so that whether or not a starting event is generated can be monitored from a signal input.     Abstract: A patient presses a finger concurrently against a needle (14) of a collection container (12) and a fingerprint surface (22, 52). In one embodiment, the patient's fingerprint is read electronically by a scanner (24) and correlated with a container serial number (16).
