Abstract:
Prior to doffing a bobbin package, the roving is severed to form a beard which is located adjacent a stop on the spindle. After the bobbin package is doffed, the beard is located adjacent to an axial stop on the spindle. When a fresh tube is donned, the roving beard is brushed down by the tube and clamped by the bottom of the tube against the axial stop. A new package can then be wound while the roving beard remains clamped.
Abstract:
The supplied strand is provided with a permanent twist due to the rotating balloon and a superimposed false twist due to a false twist device prior to winding onto the bobbin package. Prior to winding on the package, the false twist is eliminated so that the resultant roving has relatively high breaking strength for handling purposes while remaining draftable. The false twist device is located between the delivery rolls and spindle to rotate coaxially around the spindle and may be driven by the balloon or by a positive drive.
Abstract:
An unspecified, variable bonus amount of phone card time (or some other product whose delivered value can be varied) is provided with a with a topup, where the topup amount has a fixed delivered amount in local currency and the topup is sold in other territories where foreign exchange rate fluctuations provide for a fluctuating cost of the fixed topup amount. The bonus amount may be applied to a bonus, such as a bonus phone card, that provides a hedge against exchange rate fluctuations by being a variable amount of bonus phone card time, for example, associated with the topup.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for transferring hollow cylindrical objects from a supply unit to a removal unit by providing a transport unit for transferring hollow cylindrical objects between a supply unit and a removal unit, providing at least holding element in the transport unit, positioning the hollow cylindrical object in contact with the at least one holding element at the supply unit wherein the hollow cylindrical object is held by the holding element, moving the transport unit with the hollow cylindrical object from the supply unit to the removal unit, and removing the hollow cylindrical element from the at least one holding element at the removal unit.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus of the present invention is used for the high-rate deposition of materials, such as carbon, silicon, metals, metal oxides, and the like, onto a metal substrate defined by a metal tape. The particles of the material are mixed with fluid and are injected against the metal tape at high pressure and high velocity. The particles of the material form a current collection surface of the metal tape. The metal tape is used as cathode or anode combined with a separator to form a fuel cell of a secondary battery, metal-ceramic membranes, film composite metal-ceramic materials for electronic devices.
Abstract:
The present invention is a method and an eddy current system for non-contact determination of the resistance between the current lead stripe and the coating during continuous fabrication of chemical power sources such as batteries, supercapacitors, photovoltaic modules and the like. Both the method and the non-destructive test system for practicing the method are described. The method includes placing of an integrated measuring transducer containing two strap-type eddy current probes above the surface of the coating applied to the metallic current lead stripe in the region of the shaft guiding the stripe movement, so that all the points of the operating surface of the transducer being at an equal distance from the stripe surface coating so that the two probes would take measurements on the same area of the coating.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a device for conveying profiled objects, particularly bottles or parisons comprising an annular collar between two sliding planes with the aid of at least one conveying apparatus, at least one part of which rests against the object in a frictionally engaging manner and is supported on receiving elements or pressure rollers.
Abstract:
A system for non-destructive non-contact quality inspection of dry electrode units of energy storage includes an eddy current-based inspection system having a conveyor belt, and a hollow dielectric shell. An outer surface of the shell has a plurality of spaced apart measuring transducers. Each of the transducers include a feed-through eddy current probe and at least two strap capacitors spatially linked therewith. In the related method, an electrode unit to be inspected is placed on the conveyor belt and enters and moves through the dielectric shell. The electrode unit is excited using a magnetic field from the eddy current probe as it passes by each of the plurality of transducers, where eddy currents at a plurality of frequencies are induced in the electrode unit. The modulation characteristics of impedance at a plurality of frequencies are measured by the probes, and from the impedance data it is determined whether the electrode unit is defective.
