A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, a first station discovers a second station capable of providing a service of interest to the first station. The second station is one of a plurality of stations participating in a NAN data link network that provides the service of interest and supports communication over a NAN data link channel without beaconing. The second station is discovered through communication over a NAN channel supported by a plurality of neighborhood stations forming a NAN network. The NAN channel has a beaconing operation that provides synchronization. After discovery of the second station, the first station communicates with the second station over the NAN data link channel, to obtain data corresponding to the service of interest.

A method of communication includes generating a traffic advertisement at a particular device. The traffic advertisement indicates availability of data to be sent by the particular device to multiple devices. The method also includes sending, from the particular device, the traffic advertisement during a paging window. The method further includes receiving an unavailable message from a first device of the multiple devices during a data transmission window that is subsequent to the paging window. The method also includes, in response to receiving the unavailable message from the first device, refraining from sending first data from the particular device to the first device during the data transmission window.

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for improving transmission opportunity (TxOP) truncation in wireless communication. In some implementations, a transmit opportunity (TxOP) period truncation or whether to update a network allocation vector (NAV) timing based on a message that includes transmitter and receiver information (such as a transmitter address (TA) and a receiver address (RA)) may be determined. For example, a station may receive a contention-free end (CF-End) frame and determine a TxOP period truncation based on comparing a TA and an RA included in the CF-End frame with a TA and an RA included in an earlier received message (e.g., an RTS). Such information may be compared to other TAs or RAs associated with NAV timing values and the NAV timing may be set, reset, updated, or canceled based on the comparison.

Methods and apparatus for communicating in a wireless network. In one aspect, a first wireless communication device may generate a first frame that includes at least a first aggregated media access control protocol data unit (A-MPDU). The first A-MPDU may include one or more media access control protocol data units (MPDUs). The first wireless communication device may set a first recipient address (RA) field to a first value in a first MPDU, and set a first field in the first MPDU to a second value that represents an identifier of a second wireless communication device. In one aspect, the first wireless communication device may set a second field in the first MPDU to a third value that represents an identifier of a third wireless communication device. The wireless communication device may output the first frame for transmission to at least the second and third wireless communication devices.
