An example method can include receiving, from a display device associated with a computing device, a set of control signals indicating a display refresh rate implemented by the display device; adjusting a frame rate associated with application data from one or more applications executed on the computing device; synchronizing, based on the set of control signals, the adjusted frame rate with two or more display refresh cycles, each display refresh cycle being based on the display refresh rate; providing, to the display device, a first frame at the adjusted frame rate, the first frame being generated based on the application data; and displaying the first frame at the display device implementing the display refresh rate.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device, which may be a user equipment (UE), may identify a set of quality of service (QoS) flows for a sidelink communication link between the first device and second device (e.g., another UE). The set of QoS flows may be for communicating multimedia subsystem messages and data. The first device may schedule a multimedia subsystem message and a duplicate of the multimedia subsystem message for the set of QoS flows sequentially in a time domain. For example, the first device may schedule the multimedia subsystem message for a first QoS flow of the set of QoS flows and schedule the duplicate of the multimedia subsystem message for a second QoS flows of the set of QoS flows. Based on the scheduling, the first device may communicate with the second device over the sidelink communication link.

In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may identify an application at the UE that is configured to participate in data communications with a network in accordance with a route selection policy. In order to establish a data connection associated with the application, the UE may transmit a request to the network for the route selection policy associated with the application. The UE may transmit the request as part of a registration procedure, as part of a UE configuration update procedure, in accordance with a periodicity for route selection policy requests, or a combination thereof. In response to the request, the UE may receive an indication of the route selection policy associated with the application and may establish the data connection in accordance with the route selection policy.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may receive, from a network, an indication of a set of network slicing instances the wireless device is allowed to connect to for subsequent communications. The wireless device may transmit a non-access stratum message to the network requesting to connect to one or more of the network slicing instances that support non-access stratum signaling of user data. The wireless device may receive a reply from the network indicating whether the request has been allowed or rejected. If the request is allowed, the wireless device may communicate data over the network slicing instance using non-access stratum signaling. Otherwise, the wireless device may be prevented from using non-access stratum signaling to communicate data over the network slicing instance.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may attempt to establish a data session with a base station. The UE may transmit one or more session request messages including one or more route selection descriptors (RSDs) to the base station, and the UE may determine a successful RSD that may be compatible with the network based on a session accept message received from the base station. The UE may store the successful RSD at a location in memory for use in future session establishment procedures. For example, the UE may go out of service, and may re-acquire service with the same network. In such cases, the UE may transmit a session request message including the previously-accepted RSD to re-establish a data session with the base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a traffic descriptor that includes a character string corresponding to an application of the UE. In some cases, the character string may be encoded to represent a sequence of characters in the character string to index or match applications to different network slices for communications for the UE. For example, the character string may be encoded using American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) encoding. After receiving and decoding the encoded traffic descriptor, the UE may identify a matching network slice for the application corresponding to the character string of the traffic descriptor. Subsequently, the UE may attempt to establish a connection with the matching network slice for communications for the application and may communicate with the matching network slice for the application based on a successful establishment of the connection.
