Abstract:
The invention concerns a system for regulating the richness of the air-fuel mixture in a controlled injection thermal engine, consisting of a fast regulating loop comprising a Smith predictor and by a slow regulating loop adapting the reference input richness to the instability phenomena of engine torque estimated at each outer dead center on the basis of the respective torque values at previous outer dead centers computed by a software torquemeter. It works out an estimator of instability phenomena invariant to transient phases and to cylinders, and comprises an expert system for determining the heuristic reference input richness.
Abstract:
The method consists in introducing a predetermined amount of oxygenated air (synthetic air) into the exhaust system of a combustion engine. The invention is applicable to all catalytic exhaust systems and to particle filters.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for controlling gearbox input torque of a road vehicle comprising a computer for engine control which determines the total power available in output of the vehicle engine, a computer for air conditioning capable of assessing the power consumed by the air conditioning system on board the vehicle, and a computer for transmission managing the transmission control, characterised in that the engine control computer transmits to the transmission control computer an available engine torque value taking into account the torque consumed by the air conditioning system.
Abstract:
A method for detecting a misfire in at least one truck or motor vehicle internal combustion engine cylinder by analysing the values (Cg, n, i) of a quantity (Cg) characteristic of combustion and generated by observing the rotation of the crankshaft to detect the occurrence of a misfire. According to the method, misfire detection is suspended for a predetermined time when the analysis of said values (Cg, n, i) reveals anomalies originating in the transmission power line between the drive shaft and the vehicle wheels.
Abstract:
A method and a core for moulding an internal combustion engine cylinder head, wherein a metal alloy is cast in a mould containing non-meltable cores corresponding, in particular, to the hollow portions of the cylinder head, e.g. the combustion chambers (4), the intake ducts (2), the exhaust ducts (3) and the water or oil chambers, and a single integral core (1) defines both the combustion chambers (4) and the intake ducts (2).
Abstract:
The invention concerns a device for managing electric energy on a motor vehicle equipped with an internal combustion engine and comprising elements (8) with high energy consumption, and elements (4) with low energy consumption and a battery. The managing device comprises means for supplying separately the elements (8) with high energy consumption and the elements (4) with low energy consumption and the battery, and a system (2) for controlling the said means. The invention also concerns an alternator integrated inside the clutch housing, without modifying its external dimensions. The alternator comprises a stator and a rotor and is designed for supplying electric energy on a motor vehicle equipped with an internal combustion engine and having a clutch housing. The alternator is driven by the internal combustion engine and is integrated inside the clutch housing, around the clutch device.
Abstract:
A method for generating a synchronisation signal for an internal combustion engine having phased sequential multipoint injection is disclosed. The engine comprises a crankshaft sensor for indicating top dead centre times for each cylinder, and a system for measuring the gas torque generated by each combustion. Said method comprises the steps of modifying injection for a given reference cylinder, determining the resulting alteration of the gas torque for said reference cylinder, comparing the times at which injection was stopped and a torque alteration was detected, and identifying the intake top dead centre times for the reference cylinder.
Abstract:
A motor vehicle seat-belt device wherein one length of the belt (12) passes through a guide (16) and extends towards the shoulder of a passenger strapped in by the belt (12), and wherein the guide is rotatably mounted on a carriage (22) vertically slidably mounted on the vehicle body. Said device comprises means for sensing the angular position of the guide (16) about its rotational axis (A1), and causing adjustment of the height of the carriage (22) until the sensed angular position is within a predetermined range.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a seat support shaped as a storage box, characterised in that a front transversal wall (22) and a rear transversal wall (23) bear catch means (25) for locking means (14) for a detachable seat (10). A bottom (24) joins the said walls (22, 23), and is fixed on slides (2) which co-operate with rails (3) longitudinally set in the vehicle (1).
Abstract:
A system for cooling and/or heating an internal combustion engine as well as heating a passenger compartment when required. In the system, the alternator (14) in the engine cooling circuit (12) powers thermoelectric heating components (16) in the cooling circuit (16) and/or the passenger compartment (22). The compartments are connected to the battery voltage (VB) via switches that are opened and closed by a device (26) depending on measured variables such as the external temperature (Tx), the coolant temperature (Te), the passenger compartment temperature (Th), etc. Said system may be used in internal combustion engines having an alternator cooled by the engine cooling circuit.
