Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain a vibration attenuation property and rigidity, to intensify the joining force of case members and to prevent drop-out with splashing resins by constituting the one joint surface side of a pair of the case members of a resin layer contg. inorg. fillers in a smaller amt. CONSTITUTION:The assembly of the case 1 is executed by disposing a magnetic tape, etc., to the lower case member 3 and putting the upper case member 2 thereon. The members 2, 3 are molded of the thermoplastic resins consisting of the outer layer A contg. the inorg. fillers at a higher ratio for the outer side and the inside layer B contg. the inorg. fillers at a lower ratio than the content in the outside layer A for the inner side contg. the joint surface 5 side. Surfaces 5 are joined and ribs 7 for welding are melted and solidified by applying ultrasonic vibrations thereto to form an ultrasonically welded part 6. The layer B contg. the inorg. fillers at the lower ratio melts at the time of this welding and, therefore, the adhesion is further intensified. Further, the layer B contains the inorg. fillers in the smaller amt. and, therefore, the resins are less splashed in the ultrasonic vibration. The adhesion of the splashing resins to the tape to cause the drop-out is thus prevented.

The recessed part 4 for biting is disposed within the recessed part 11, by which the burr projection 31 generated at the opening end of the recessed part 4 is housed into the recessed part 11 at the time of removing the cassette halves 2, 3 from the molds.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the problem of peeling and to widen the range for selection of resins by coating an intermediate resin layer having a low modulus of elasticity with resins on both sides, thereby forming cassette halves. CONSTITUTION:The first resin layer 4 is first formed by injecting an ABS resin and an elastomer is injected thereon to form the second resin layer 5 slightly smaller than the resin layer 4. Further, the ABS resin of the same quality as the quality of the resin layer 4 is injected to form the resin layer 6 slightly larger than the resin layer 5 to insert the resin layer 5 between the resin layers 4 and 6. The peripheral edge of the resin layer 6 is then welded to the resin layer 4, by which the cassette halves 2, 3 are formed in the form of coating the resin layer 5 with the resin layers 4, 6. The halves are then formed of at least the three resin layers 4, 5, 6 and the resin layer 5 is formed of the elastomer having the modulus of elasticity lower than the modulus of elasticity of the resin layers 4, 6 on both sides. The problem of the peeling of the resin layer 5 is then eliminated and the range for selecting the resins which can be used without the need for consideration of compatibility is widened. The tape cassette 1 having excellent vibration attenuation performance and rigidity is obtd.

Also a portion where the layer 26 is formed only in the close range of the edge part. Thus the occurrence of foil burrs at the plane edge is eliminated and the deterioration of the housing body design is prevented.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cassette casing having improved impact resistance by using GPPS(general purpose polystyrene) as a chief material for the forming material of the cassette casing and using materials having excellent impact resistance in combination as a master batch material. SOLUTION: The cassette casing 1 consists of an upper half 2 and a lower half 3 which are molded by resin materials. The master batch material B (dark colored material) is mixed with the chief material A and the mixture is charged into a hopper 21 of a molding machine 20. The cassette casing 1 is molded in a metal mold section 22. The colorless GPPS is used for the chief material A and the dark colored materials (HIPS, AS, ABS, etc.) having the excellent impact resistance are used for the master batch material B. The impact resistance is sufficiently assured with the molded cassette casing 1. The cassette casing is not damaged even the casing falls from a high place. The excessively high contact of the materials having the impact resistance is the cause for unequal colors and the excessively low content does not improve the impact resistance and, therefore, the content is adequately 1 to 30wt.%.
