PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication environment that is comfortable to more users. SOLUTION: Start or stop of a terminal 11 is commanded by depressing a button 91, i.e. the main switch of a terminal 11 in an operating unit 55. By having the terminal 11 depress a button 92 during starting, start or stop of a communication unit 51, i.e. a unit of the terminal 11 for providing a portable telephone function, is instructed. When the terminal 11 is starting, an AV unit 52 for reproducing the data of a content is not stopped, but the AV unit 52 controls a switching unit 54 based on the operation of the button 92. Consequently, power supply from a power supply unit 53 to the communication unit 51 is controlled, and the communication unit 51 is started or stopped. The invention is applicable to a portable audio player. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more surely prevent data corruption caused by recording performance degradation at a low temperature, and also to prevent excessive limitation of a recording operation. SOLUTION: A testing write operation is performed to a storage medium only in accordance with a condition that temperature drops below a prescribed temperature. The permission/nonpermission of a recording operation is determined on the basis of the result. Since a recording operation is not permitted only when recording is actually impossible, the recording operation is not limited excessively. Since recording can be allowed only when recording is actually possible, data corruption is prevented more surely. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an excessive restriction against a user even while protecting copy right at the time of duplicating data. SOLUTION: When data are duplicated to the destination of a transfer by a transfer, the reproducing of the data of the origin of the transfer is prohibited. An intrincic identifier is previously set in the equipment of the origin of a transfer. When the equipment of the destination of a transfer is connected to the equipment of the origin of the transfer, an identifier is transmitted from the equipment of the destination of the transfer (S51). Then, the transmitted identifier is searched from a previously registered indentifier management table at the origin of the transfer (S52). When the identifier is not found (S53), the transferring of data is prohibited (S60). When the identifier is found, data to be transferred are searched from a data management table at the origin of the transfer (S55) and a flag is checked (S56). When the flag is '1' (S57), since data are regard as they are already transferred, the transferring of the data is prohibited (S60). When the flag is '0', the data are transferred (S58) and the data management table is updated (S59).
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a digital copy of music, etc., from widely spreading over the limits of its private copy and to enable a high quality copy within the limits of the private copy. SOLUTION: At the time of transmitting a reproducing data reproduced from a recording medium by a 1st recording and reproducing unit to a 2nd recording and reproducing unit, an identification code peculiar to this 1st recording and reproducing unit is also transmitted, and hence the reproducing data and the identification code are recorded on a recording medium in the 2nd recording and reproducing unit. Then, at the time of transmitting a reproducing data reproduced from a recording medium by the 2nd recording and reproducing unit to the 1st recording and reproducing unit, only when the identification code in the transmitted data is confirmed to be the same as the identification code set to be peculiar to this 1st recording and reproducing unit, recording operation of the transmitted data to a recording medium is feasible by the 1st recording and reproducing unit.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic gain control (AGC) circuit in which a gain can be varied in a wide range and the problem of noise caused by gain change width is eliminated by providing an electronic volume part, a level detection part and a controller for an input signal, thereby controlling the gain within the gain variable range with the gain change width corresponding to a gain level. SOLUTION: At the AGC circuit, audio signals are inputted from input terminals 2 and 3, and the required gain is obtained in an electronic volume part 8 through an input switch 7. This output is processed by an A/D converter 9 and an encoder 10 and recorded in a recording part 11. Besides, the output of A/D converter 9 is supplied to a level detection part 12, and its level information is supplied to a controller 14. Corresponding to the level information of level detection part 12, the controller 14 outputs a gain control command to the volume part 8 and the command designates the change width in the case of gain change. Then, the gain level is controlled by that change width to realize the AGC operation.
