Abstract: PURPOSE: To highly accurately position a magnetic gap in a heightwise relative position by providing a spacer on a part of a magnetic head joining part formed on a head base. CONSTITUTION: The magnetic gaps G1 and G2 are formed by combining one pair of magnetic core halves 4A, 4B, 5A and 5B in the magnetic head device 1. Then, the device is equipped with magnetic heads 4 and 5 consisting of coils wound around these magnetic core halves and the head base 3 joined and fixed with the magnetic head joining parts 3A formed on both end parts of one pair of magnetic heads 4 and 5 verging on the magnetic heads 4 and 5 respectively. Then, a part of at least one magnetic head joining part 3A joined and fixed with the magnetic head 4 or 5 of the head base 3 is provided with the spacer 7 for adjusting the position of the magnetic gap G1 or G2 formed in the magnetic head 4 or 5 by changing the thickness of the spacer 7, and the magnetic head 4 or 5 is joined and fixed up via this spacer 7.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To decrease the crosstalks between chips and to improve reproduced output characteristics by winding windings only on the side cores of respective magnetic head chips arranged to face each other in a head traveling direction. CONSTITUTION:The same base 1 is provided thereon with a pair of magnetic head chips 2, 3 having azimuth angles varying from each other apart a prescribed distance in the head traveling direction X facing each other. The head chips 2, 3 consist of center cores 4, 5 and side cores 6, 7 of oxide magnetic materials, such as ferrite, and are gap-joined, by which magnetic gaps g1, g2 acting as recording and reproducing gaps are formed between the butt surfaces thereof. The magnetic gaps g1, g2 are formed in the directions varying from each other in order to prevent the pickup of the magnetic fluxes leaking from the one head chip by the other head chip. The one-side center cores 4, 5 constituting the closed magnetic path are formed as the bar-shaped magnetic cores of a small thickness.
