Abstract:
In a spread spectrum communication system, one (Wn) of a series of orthogonal codes for spectrum spreading is assigned to signal-to-noise ratio measurement in a terminal. On the basis of a noise signal detected by de-spreading a signal received from an antenna with the above described orthogonal code Wn and a pilot signal, each terminal derives a signal-to-noise ratio. Each terminal transmits the signal-to-noise ratio to the base station as a power control signal. On the basis of signal-to-noise information received from each terminal as the power control signal, the base station controls signal transmission power for each terminal.
Abstract:
A coordinate input device includes a writing panel which includes a writing surface having two vertical sides and two horizontal sides. A plurality of transmitting units transmit surface acoustic waves SAW to propagate the SAW within the writing panel in one of a vertical direction and a horizontal direction through reflection. A plurality of receiving units receive the SAW from the plurality of transmitting units through reflection, and output detection signals in response to the received SAW, so that coordinates of a specified point on the writing panel are detected based on the detection signals. A plurality of reflectors, provided on the four sides of the writing surface, reflect the SAW from the transmitting units inwardly to the writing panel and reflect the reflected SAW to the receiving units. In the coordinate input device, the plurality of reflectors, the plurality of transmitting units, and the plurality of receiving units are divided into at least two groups with respect to one of the vertical direction and the horizontal direction, respectively, and symmetrically placed about a predetermined line of the writing panel.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling the power of a signal transmitted between a base station and a mobile terminal which constitute a mobile communication system. At least one of the base station and the mobile terminal has functions to compare a predetermined reference value and a necessary transmission power obtained as a result of transmission power control in order to compensate for a signal intensity fluctuation occurring on a link between the base station and the mobile terminal, temporarily stopping the transmission if the necessary transmission power is larger than a predetermined permissible value, and transmitting the signal if the necessary transmission power is equal to or smaller than the predetermined permissible value.
Abstract:
In a spread spectrum communication system, one (W.sub.n) of a series of orthogonal codes for spectrum spreading is assigned to signal-to-noise ratio measurement in a terminal. On the basis of a noise signal detected by de-spreading a signal received from an antenna with the above described orthogonal code W.sub.n and a pilot signal, each terminal derives a signal-to-noise ratio. Each terminal transmits the signal-to-noise ratio to the base station as a power control signal. On the basis of signal-to-noise information received from each terminal as the power control signal, the base station controls signal transmission power for each terminal.
Abstract:
An interface device having a storage function is interposed between each of connections between node devices and transmit/receive stations. When input signals from one transmit/receive station and one node device are received at almost the same time, the input signal from the node device is temporarily stored in the interface device. The input signal stored in the interface device is read therefrom and output after the input signal from the transmit/receive station ends.
Abstract:
A rewritable bar code display medium is disclosed, which is composed of a support and a reversible thermosensitive recording layer for reversibly forming bar codes therein formed on the support, which reversible thermosensitive recording layer varies in transparency with change in temperature, and an image display method using the rewritable bar code display medium, and an apparatus for implementing the image display method are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A node apparatus is used in a communication network having a hierarchical structure and transmission paths each coupling one node apparatus to another node apparatus or a terminal device. The node apparatus has at least one high order direction port, low order direction ports, and a control unit for controlling the coupling of the high order direction port and the low order direction ports. When signals are transmitted from the terminal devices approximately at the same time, one of the signals which first reaches the node apparatus provided in a highest order layer is broadcasted within the communication network and remaining signals are eliminated.
Abstract:
A recording method and apparatus therefor make the recording of images by the following process: A powder-like toner having a high electric resistivity and a charge retention property is held on a donor and is brought into contact with a multi-stylus electrode. A pattern signal is applied to the multi-stylus electrode and the toner is electrically charged or quenched by the charge injection of the multi-stylus electrode and a charge distribution is formed in the toner on the donor, corresponding to the pattern signal. The charge distribution is used for the formation of a visible image. The visible pattern can be recorded on an electrically conductive recording member or a recording member having uneven surface by utilizing an image transfer medium. By transferring toner to a latent image bearing member on which a latent electrostatic image is formed, a visible pattern modified by the pattern signal can be obtained.
Abstract:
An optical communication network includes a plurality of nodes and optical fibers for interconnecting the nodes whereby an optical signal may be transmitted from a source node to a destination node which may be determined selectively. Each node includes input channels, output channels and a connection control device for controlling the connection between the input and output channels. Terminal devices are provided to be in operative association with selected nodes. Thus, the present invention provides a high speed network having high reliability. The present network is easy to expand and its reliability increases as it is expanded.
