Abstract:
The present invention is directed to composite membranes having a separation layer comprised of at least one poly(tetramethyl) bisphenol A phthalate resulting in enhanced separation and permeating characteristics. Processes for making these composite membranes and the methods of using them for gas separations are also disclosed.
Abstract:
High solids coating compositions are made by blending a crosslinkable organic polymer, and organic solvent and/or diluent, at least one reactive carbomate derivative, a crosslinking agent and optionally a crosslinking catalyst. The resultant high solids coating compositions can be either solutions or dispersions depending upon the particular polymer and solvent and the reactive carbamate chosen as the reactive cosolvent or reactive diluent.
Abstract:
The crystalline omega-type zeolite LZ-202 can be prepared by a novel process that eliminates the prior art rquirement of a templating agent. Unlike prior art omega-type zeolites, the as-synthesized form is totally ion-exchangeable and can be enriched with silicon by treatment with ammonium fluorosilicate to produce a product which is substantially crystalline.
Abstract:
A process for low temperature oxydehydrogenation of ethane to ethylene uses an improved supported catalyst produced by impregnating the support with the soluble portion of a precursor catalyst solution and then activating the impregnated support.
Abstract:
An organic polymer containing composition suitable for use as a quenchant having incorporated therein a non-nitrite inhibitor system, which comprises an aromatic compound having at least one substituent nitro group and/or the water soluble organic or inorganic salt thereof and a hydroxy substituted mono aromatic carboxylic acid and/or the water soluble organic or inorganic salt thereof. In another embodiment a pH adjustment agent capable of providing an initial pH of at least 7.5 is also present.
Abstract:
Hydrocracking processes using novel catalysts comprising non-zeolitic molecular sieves such as the silicoaluminophosphates. The products of the instant processes are characterized by higher i-paraffin to n-paraffin ratios.
Abstract:
Dewaxing processes for hydrocarbon feedstocks using novel catalysts comprising non-zeolitic molecular sieves, such as the silicoaluminophosphates. The products of the instant dewaxing processes are characterized by lower pour points than the hydrocarbon feedstock.
Abstract:
An adjustable burner nozzle having improved heat dissipation characteristics comprising a nozzle passage through a curved piece matingly fitted against a correspondingly curved burner passage wall to form a large and constant conductive heat transfer area.
Abstract:
A heat-shrinkable, multilayer film suitable for use in fabricating bags for packaging primal and sub-primal meat cuts and processed meats. The multilayer film has a first outer layer of a first ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, a core layer of a barrier film such as polyvinylidene chloride copolymer, and a second outer layer of a second ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. The multilayer film is preferably made by co-extrusion of the layers, and then it is biaxially stretched. After biaxial stretching, the multilayer film is irradiated to a dosage level of between 1 megarad and 5 megarads and heat-sealed in the form of a bag. The bag has improved toughness properties and heat-sealing characteristics.
Abstract:
Catalytic cracking catalysts and catalytic cracking process wherein the cracking catalysts are prepared by: (i) contacting a mixture of a large pore zeolite and an inorganic oxide matrix at effective conditions of temperature, pH and time with a fluoro salt; and (ii) ammonium exchanging the product of step (i) to provide a catalyst having less than 2.0 percent by weight Na2O, based on the weight of the zeolite. Optionally, the product is provided with an effective amount of at least one cation selected from the class consisting of serium, lanthanum, praseodymium, neodymium, promethium, samarium, europium, lutetium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium and ytterbium.
