Abstract:
A wind power plant connected to an electric grid. A central plant controller is configured to carry out a method of controlling an electric output of the wind power plant in the event of a transient low-voltage fault of the electric grid. The central plant controller is configured, after a fault stage in response to detection of a low-voltage fault during which the wind turbines ride through the grid fault, to control the wind power plant during a post-fault-support stage to provide only real power, or perform voltage control. The central plant controller is configured to resume control of the wind power plant according to the nominal-grid operation mode, which prevailed before the low-voltage fault, in a nominal-grid operation stage.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for controlling a reactive power source in a wind power plant, the method comprising the steps of providing a wind turbine reactive power control signal and providing an active power reference signal, said active power reference signal being a measure of an active power production of the wind power plant. A control signal for the reactive power source is generated by combining the wind turbine reactive power control signal and the active power reference signal in such a way that the control signal for the reactive power source becomes a weighted signal of the wind turbine reactive power control signal. Moreover, the present invention relates to control units and wind power plants suitable for carrying out the present invention.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method and a system for operating a wind power plant (1) connected to a power grid (2), the wind power plant comprising a number of wind turbine generators. The method comprises the steps of: setting up (101) a number of different models, each model emulating an electrical behaviour of an electrical system, such as a load or a power generating unit, connected to the power grid; detecting (102) value(s) of a number of power grid parameters; selecting (103) one of the number of models, based on a number of values out of a set comprising the detected power grid parameter value(s) and ambient parameter value(s), or based on an external command signal; in the selected model, calculating (104) electrical output values of the model, based on the detected grid parameter values; calculating (105) electrical reference values for the wind power plant, based on the calculated electrical output values of the model; and calculating (106) electrical reference values for each wind turbine generator based on the calculated electrical reference values for the wind power plant. The method may further comprise controlling (107) the wind turbine generators according to the calculated electrical reference values for each wind turbine generator.
Abstract:
A method, control arrangement, and wind power plant (WPP) comprising a plurality of wind turbine generators (WTGs) are disclosed. The method includes operating, responsive to a received power demand corresponding to the WPP, a boost group of one or more WTGs of the plurality of WTGs to begin producing a boosted power output, wherein the boosted power output of each of the one or more WTGs of the boost group is regulated independent of the power demand. The method further includes determining, based on a measured amount of boosted power production, power production set points for a regulation group of one or more different WTGs of the plurality of WTGs to thereby meet the power demand.
