Abstract:
A deep oil fryer and filtration system is disclosed wherein the filtration system (B) is disposed within a cabinet (16) of a deep oil fryer (A) having a plurality of vats (10, 12, and 14). Filtration system (B) includes a drawer having a reservoir (20) and an adjacent utility compartment (40). A pre-filter (34) is disposed in a filter basket (30) received in reservoir (20) and spaced above a bottom wall of a reservoir by the legs (32). A drain outlet (28) from the reservoir delivers cooking oil to a pump (70). A flow line system which minimizes retention of cooking oil in the lines includes a reservoir outlet line (74), a filter inlet line (78), a filter by-pass line (80), and a return line (86). Whenever by-pass valve (82) is open and pump (70) is on, pre-filtered oil from filter (36) passes through filter inlet (50) and exits filter outlet (64) without passing through a filter element ( 48) to preheat the filter. The by-passed oil is returned to the cooking vat for rinsing out the cooking vat. When by-pass valve (82) is closed, oil entering filter inlet (50) is forced through filter element (48) on both ends (54a) and (56a). Primary filter (C) is a pressure filter which provides a final filtration of the prefiltered oil. Advantageously, pressure filter (C) includes an end cap (46) which is removable so that filter element (48) may be replaced from an opening in the oil reservoir to obtain any spillage.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for the purification of oily emulsions, solutions, industrial waste waters or the like. The apparatus includes a reaction container, at least one discharge connecting piece, an inflow trough and a band filter fitted with a fleece band, a filtrate container arranged under it and a sludge container provided at the discharge end of the band filter.
Abstract:
A system and method for dewatering a continuous stream of slurry at high flow rates demonstrates enhanced efficiency, economy and ease of operation. A stream of slurry is subject to continuous or continual measurement of flow rate and pulp density and the measurements are used to control the rate of addition of a flocculating agent to the slurry. The flocculated slurry is delivered to a dewatering unit where it is passed through a diffuser and evenly delivered to a tracking screen for filtering solids from a liquid filtrate. The pulp density of the filtrate may also be measured and used to control addition of a flocculating agent. The tracking screen is adjusted to achieve an angle of repose suited to the particular composition of the filter cake. The diffuser has a base having a horizontal section aspect ratio of from about 1:1 to about 4:1 and continuously changing vertically into an upper portion having a horizontal section with an aspect ratio of from about 40:1 to about 100:1. The ratio of the horizontal sectional areas at the upper portion with respect to the base is from about 1:1 to about 3:1. The dewatering unit of the invention may be adjustably mounted on a transport means for deployment of the high speed dewatering system and method at any convenient location.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a liquid filter system that includes a liquid filter apparatus configured to self-clean without removal of the filter apparatus from the filter system. The filter apparatus uses both a filter media for filtering solids as well as a spin motion imparted to fluid being filtered so that centrifugal force can remove solids from the liquid being filtered. The liquid filter system also includes a gas pulse nozzle in fluid communication with the liquid filter apparatus and is configured to flow gas into the filter media to expel water and debris trapped in the filter media without removing the filter media from the filter system.
Abstract:
A bag clip is provided for removably mounting a filter bag onto a suction mast of a pool cleaner to collect and retain debris vacuumed by the pool cleaner from submerged floor and side wall surfaces of a swimming pool. The bag clip includes an inner support collar for reception into an open mouth of a porous filter bag, in combination with an outer clamp ring for releasibly clamping the bag mouth onto the inner support collar. The bag clip additionally includes quick release latch tabs for snap fit mounting onto the pool cleaner suction mast. In use, the outer clamp ring can be quickly and easily opened to permit filter bag removal and disposal of collected debris, followed by re-installation of the same or a replacement filter bag.
