Abstract: A pleated filter media comprises a plurality of pleats comprised of pleat segments extending in an axial direction between first and second axial ends and extending in a transverse direction that is perpendicular to the axial direction between first and second sets of pleat tips at least partially defined by first and second sets of bend lines. Axial flow channels are defined between the pleat segments in the lateral direction and the plurality of pleats has a width in the transverse direction that varies along the axial direction.

The filter device comprises a cartridge defining a treatment region filled with said one or more filtering media and has a liquid inlet and a liquid outlet. Abstract: A polymer filtering apparatus includes a polymer pipe (12, 112) having a multiplicity of through-holes formed in its peripheral surface, and leaf filters (13, 113) and support members (14, 14a, 114, 114a) which are detachably and alternately laminated one upon another around the polymer pipe. Each leaf filter has a pair of filter members (21, 121) made of a filter medium which cannot bear filtering pressure. On the other hand, each support member has polymer-permeable support plates (25, 25a, 125, 125a) which respectively contact the filter members of the adjacent leaf filters from the outside thereof such as to support the filter members against filtering pressure. Thus, a polymer is filtered by passing from the inside to the outside of each leaf filter through the filter members and the support members. The leaf filters and the support members can be removed from the polymer pipe and, therefore, it is possible to wash them independently of each other.

Abstract: Debris filtration and strainer systems for a fluid handling device are provided herein. The strainer systems can include one or more of a strainer basket, a removable insert, and an adapter for removably engaging the removable insert with the strainer basket. The removable insert includes a liner having a plurality of openings that are the same size as, or smaller than, the openings of a the strainer basket, and which is inserted into the strainer basket to capture debris from water passing therethrough, preventing clogging of the strainer basket and reducing the frequency of cleanings of the strainer basket. The liner can be fabricated from a biodegradable material, and thus can be easily removed, disposed of, and replaced. The removable insert can include a rigid connection tab with one or more features for removably engaging the strainer basket and/or an adapter positioned between the strainer basket and the removable insert.

The first filter chamber has a retentate outlet, is particularly easy to handle if the second filter screen is arranged in a cavity of the filter housing, the inlet and outlet openings communicate with each other through the second filter screen, and the retentate outlet is arranged on a side of the second filter screen that faces the fluid flow.
