Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) for filtering liquids, comprising a container (2), apparatuses (3) for introducing a liquid to be filtered into the container (2), a container outlet (4) for liquid to be discharged unfiltered from the container (2) and at least one rotor (6) drivable in rotation about the container axis (5) with a hollow shaft (8) mounted in one end wall (7) and a support device (9) fastened to the hollow shaft for filter elements (10) arranged with a free space with respect to the container axis (5) or rotating about the own axis thereof, the inner one of which discharges via the support device (9) and the hollow shaft (8) from the container (2) as a drain for filtered liquid. In order to provide improved filtering conditions, according to the invention, the container inner radius (12) of the inner wall of the peripheral casing (11) of the container is increased in the peripheral direction of the container, a bulge of the inner wall being between two minima and a maximum, said bulge forming a guiding apparatus guiding the fluid toward the filter elements (10).

Abstract: An oxidation catalyst for treating an exhaust gas from a diesel engine comprises: a first washcoat region for oxidising carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HCs), wherein the first washcoat region comprises a first platinum group metal (PGM) and a first support material, and wherein the first washcoat region does not comprise manganese or an oxide thereof; a second washcoat region for oxidising nitric oxide (NO), wherein the second washcoat region comprises platinum (Pt), manganese (Mn) and a second support material comprising a refractory metal oxide, which is silica-alumina or alumina doped with silica in a total amount of 0.5 to 45% by weight of the alumina, wherein the platinum (Pt) is disposed or supported on the second support material and the manganese (Mn) is disposed or supported on the second support material; and a substrate having an inlet end and an outlet end, and wherein the first washcoat region is a first washcoat layer and the second washcoat region is a second washcoat layer, and the second washcoat layer is disposed on the first washcoat layer; and wherein when the oxidation catalyst comprises a hydrocarbon adsorbent, which is a zeolite, then the first washcoat region further comprises the hydrocarbon adsorbent

Abstract: A honeycomb filter including a plurality of honeycomb fired bodies being combined with one another via adhesive layers therebetween, wherein each honeycomb fired body includes an outer wall on its outer periphery thereof, a plurality of cells as exhaust gas passages, and porous cell walls defining the cells, the cells including exhaust gas introduction cells each having an open end at an exhaust gas inlet side and a plugged end at an exhaust gas outlet side and exhaust gas emission cells each having an open end at the exhaust gas outlet side and a plugged end at the exhaust gas inlet side. The exhaust gas introduction cells and the exhaust gas emission cells each have a uniform cross-sectional shape throughout from the end at the exhaust gas inlet side to the end at the exhaust gas outlet side excluding the plugged portion in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the cells; each exhaust gas emission cell is adjacently surrounded fully by the exhaust gas introduction cells across the porous cell walls, except for the cells adjacent to the outer wall; and the cells adjacent to the outer wall consist of the exhaust gas introduction cells and the exhaust gas emission cells, the total volume of the exhaust gas emission cells adjacent to the outer wall being greater than that of the exhaust gas introduction cells adjacent to the outer wall.

Abstract: A water quality-upgrading device includes a container having an inner peripheral wall defining a receiving chamber and two opposite ends respectively defining an inlet and an outlet; at least one water molecule refinement layer disposed in said receiving chamber; two filtering sheets disposed at said inlet and said outlet of said container respectively; and wherein, when water flows into said receiving chamber, said water molecule refinement layer is capable of reducing dimension of water molecules so as to spread said finer water molecules on an oil sludge stained on a substance such that said finer water molecules penetrate into gaps formed between the oil sludge and an external surface of the substance, thereby reducing contact area amount and simultaneously weakening a bonding property between the oil sludge and the external surface of the substance to facilitate removal of the oil sludge off the substance by of a wiping cloth.
