Abstract: A discharging device (1 or 41) for media to be very finely atomized media has a discharge nozzle (3) with a sponge-like media base (10) which is fed by a functionally self-contained dispensing unit (50) for the medium and by a delivery device (11) for compressed air, such that control means (40) are used to spread a drop of medium by capillarity in the media base (10), after which actuation provides a blast of compressed air through the media base (10) toward the media outlet (4). The medium, which is already in a very finely divided state, is thus entrained out of the media base (10), swirled and atomized again to a finer state in the region of an impact atomizer (30) before escaping into the open with an extremely small droplet size of at most 2 νm.
