Abstract:
The present invention relates to a paper tissue, and in particular to facial tissue, and disposable handkerchiefs. Claimed and described is a method for making a tissue paper product from a tissue paper web, the method comprising the steps of: - passing said tissue paper web through an embossing nip formed between a first and a second embossing roll, wherein at least one of said embossing rolls comprises at least 30 embossing elements per squarecentimetre. - applying a transferable lotion to at least portions of said tissue paper webFurther claimed are paper tissue products made in accordance with the above method.
Abstract:
An embossing device for embossing a single-ply or multi-ply web of tissue paper comprises a first steel roll (12) with embossing protuberances (24, 26) on its peripheral surface and a second roll (14) with a yielding layer (32) on its peripheral surface. The second roll cooperates with the steel roll (12) so as to form an embossing nip (20) therewith. The steel roll (12) and the second roll (14) run in synchronisation. The second roll (14) has individual zones (30) on its peripheral surface with a higher overall thickness and/or different material characteristics of the yielding layer (32; 32, 34) compared to that of the remaining peripheral surface. These individual zones (30) are opposed in the embossing nip (20) to embossing protuberances of the steel roll (12).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for embossing and/or satin-finishing a flat material, comprising at least two embossing rolls that are linked with a drive and that can be driven individually or jointly. The rolls can be elastically pressed against each other and the pyramidal teeth of the rolls have a flattened tip. In order to produce an embossed structure with variable optical effects the teeth (T2) of at least one of the rolls are adapted to provide the flat material, especially the metallized packaging foil, with a sign (L) whose aspect varies depending on the visual angle of the viewer (O) and/or kind and/or location of the source of light (LS). These teeth (T2) have, for example, a height that is inferior to that of the remaining teeth (T1). The inventive device allows not only production of special effects by embossing but also production of security features that are especially forgery-proof.
Abstract:
A method for forming a saturating paper comprising the steps of selecting a sheet of paper, creating an embossed pattern of polygons on the sheet to increase the absorption capacity of the sheet, and causing a resin to contact the sheet such that the sheet absorbs at least a portion of the resin. The invention also includes a method for forming a decorative laminate including the steps of providing an overlay sheet, embossing the overlay sheet to increase the absorption capacity of the overlay sheet, and causing a resin to contact the overlay sheet such that the overlay sheet absorbs at least a portion of the resin. The method also includes the steps of locating the overlay sheet onto a decor sheet, and heating the overlay sheet and the decor sheet under pressure to bond the overlay sheet to the decor sheet.
Abstract:
High bulk tissue webs are processed sequentially through separate calendering and embossing units to optimize the balance between sheet caliper for winding tension and embossing element height for pattern definition, resulting in embossed, high-bulk tissue products with improved embossing pattern clarity. The multiple step converting process enables the use of male embossing elements having a height of about 0.04 inch or greater. The tissue webs have a Residual Waviness value of 12 micrometers or greater, which is attributable to average surface waviness values for the spot embossements being about 30 micrometers or greater.
Abstract:
A method for making an absorbent structure (10) having at least two plies (P1, P2) each consisting of at least one embossed absorbent crepe paper sheet, wherein the plies (P1, P2) are fed between two synchronously rotated and mutually overlapping grooved metal cylinders (CG1, CG2) provided with projections (R1, R2), in such a way that the clearance (J) between the tops of the projections (R1, R2) of one metal cylinder (CG1, CG2) and the facing bottom surface (F2, F1) of a groove in the other cylinder (CG2, CG1) is smaller than the groove depth of the cylinders and larger than the sum of the thicknesses (E1, E2) of the previously formed plies (P1, P2), whereby said plies (P1, P2) are not compressed as they are fed between the overlapping grooved cylinders (CG1, CG2).
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus equipped with a first roller (1) provided with tooth parts and at least one second roller (3) provided with tooth parts, characterized in that the rollers are arranged so that the respective tooth parts (4) of one roller are locked with the gaps between four tooth parts (2) of the other roller and constituted so as to apply emboss processing and satin processing to a flat material. SOLUTION: The first roller (1) is equipped with at least one micro-structure (10) and opposed pressure surfaces (11) are provided to the respective positions of the second roller (3). The micro-structure (10) is provided to a roller surface (5) through an intermediate layer (7). This method is especially advantageous in a case that a film (19) having a thermoplastic intermediate layer (21) is used. By this apparatus, a logogram of the micro-structure can be subjected to emboss processing at the desired positions of all of the rollers, and the high safety to forgery and various designs are enabled.
