Abstract:
In a paper towel (1) with for example three layers (2, 3, 4) the two outer layers (3, 4) are provided with embossing (6) and the inner layer (2) is provided with printing (5). The layers (2, 3, 4) are at least partially transparent and are cemented to one another by means of a colored glue as the binder (9).
Abstract:
A method and work material for making embossed blanks for sample packages and other free-standing three dimensional display items from a sheet-type work material includes a printer for printing a graphic image on the work material, and a processing mechanism for performing work operations on the work material. The sheet-type work material has a top layer of sheet material, an intermediate layer of sheet material, and a carrier layer of sheet material, with a first layer of adhesive material bonding the top and intermediate layers of sheet material together, and a second layer of adhesive material bonding the intermediate and carrier layers of sheet material together. Any, all, or a combination of the top, intermediate, or carrier layers of sheet material may have shape retaining deformability characteristics to aid in holding an embossed design in the work material. In operation, the printer prints an image onto the work material, which is then advanced to the processing mechanism where a creaser places indented fold lines into the work material, a knife cuts the blank from the work material, and an embosser, moving in either a rasterwise or vectorial motion, embosses a design into the work material. The blank can then be removed from the work material and erected into a package or other free-standing three dimensional display item.
Abstract:
A method of printing color images which includes the formation of a pattern of three primary color separated halftones of the image from a medium applied to a substrate. The medium is embossed to form a surface relief configuration on each halftone image. Each surface relief configuration reflects one specific primary color at a specific angle. In one embodiment, the medium is applied to a substrate in the pattern of color separated halftone images in a single printing pass by a composite offset printing plate. The medium is then embossed by an embossing plate to create the surface relief configurations thereon. In a second embodiment, the medium is applied to the substrate and embossed by a single plate in a single printing pass. In a third embodiment, the medium is applied to the substrate in a relatively continuous layer and thereafter embossed to simultaneously create a pattern of color separated halftones of the image and a different surface relief configuration on each halftone image. In a fourth embodiment, the medium is applied to the substrate in a relatively continuous layer and thereafter embossed to form a plurality of surface relief configurations thereon. The halftone images are then formed on the embossed medium to produce a full color image by applying a coating over the portions of the medium where the primary colors should not be reflected.
Abstract:
An embossing method and apparatus utilizes 3D printing by digitally dispensing\ink jet printing to apply texturing features to a work roll or a sheet that may be fed into a rolling mill to emboss sheet material like aluminum alloy sheet. The printed pattern is highly variable and may be produced quickly and easily allowing low volume embossing. The printed pattern may be removed from a work roll after use to allow the roll to be reused. Alternatively, a sheet receives the printed pattern, is rolled and then the printed material removed from the resultant depression.
Abstract:
Provided are patterned tissue webs and patterned rolled tissue products, and methods of manufacturing the same. The patterned tissue webs and products are manufactured by topically applying a pattern to a partially dewatered tissue web having a consistency from about 10 to about 50 percent. After application of the pattern, the tissue web is dried to a consistency from about 90 to about 100 percent. A wide variety of patterns may be applied to the tissue web in this manner, such as continuous and discontinuous patterns, and for example, a plurality of spaced apart continuous stripes of color oriented in the machine direction of the tissue web.
Abstract:
Method for producing a multi-ply web (14) comprising at least three plies of flexible material, such as paper and nonwoven material and a multi-ply product produced according to the method. A first (1) and second ply (7) are glued together with a first glue pattern and a second and third ply (16) are glued together with a second glue pattern which, as seen in the thickness direction of the multi-ply web, is substantially aligned with the first glue pattern.
