Abstract:
A bound book for displaying photographs and the like including a carrier sheet arrangement folded at least once to provide two carrier sheets separated by a fold and having respective dimensions similar a pair of display sheets, such as photographs, to be displayed. The display sheets are mounted on the respective carrier sheets by respective fastening layers. In one embodiment, the fastening layers include pressure sensitive adhesive and an associated support structure to prevent the pressure sensitive adhesive for adhering during assembly of the book when the display sheets are initially positioned over the fastening layers. The carrier sheet arrangement, display sheets and fastening layers are positioned within a cover assembly, with pressure then being applied to the cover assembly so as to activate the pressure sensitive adhesive and thereby secure the respective display sheets to the respective carrier sheets.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an adhesive application amount while ensuring an appropriate adhesive force when adhesion surfaces of media are pasted to each other.SOLUTION: A paste formation pattern for odd numbers on which dot groups are arranged in an island form and a paste formation pattern for even numbers A on which dot groups are arranged at opposing positions to the dot groups on the paste formation pattern for odd numbers in an island form are set. Further, a paste discharge head is controlled such that the set paste formation pattern for odd numbers is formed on an adhesion surface of an odd-numbered sheet of paper and the discharge head is controlled such that the set paste formation pattern for even numbers is formed on an adhesion surface of an even-numbered sheet of paper. Therefore, an adhesive application amount can be suppressed in comparison with a case where the adhesive is uniformly applied to the entire of both the adhesion surfaces. Moreover, application regions formed on both the adhesion surfaces can be overlapped with one another, so that the adhesive application amount can be also suppressed while ensuring an appropriate adhesive force.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which can prepare a booklet in the state that an image can be easily and rapidly printed directly on a sheet and to provide a printing sheet for it. SOLUTION: A booklet preparing system includes electronic image data reading means, editing means for editing read electronic image data, printing data forming means for forming printing data in a format which uses electronic image data as a booklet, and printing means for printing printing data. To print image data on a printing sheet, the printing data forming means form data which is regulated at the printing position of the image data, in size, direction and order of the image data as the booklet. The printing means prints the printing data by the printing data forming means in the format at the printing position, size, direction and order as the booklet. Thus, the booklet preparing system also includes a printing sheet of required exclusive use and a cover for the booklet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To coat paper more properly with an adhesive corresponding to an image forming condition.SOLUTION: Dot patterns are set so that the amounts of paste are different from each other between the region on the back side of an image forming region and the region on the back side of an image non-forming region and a paste discharge head is controlled so that the set dot patterns are formed in the adhesive surface of the paper. Since the amounts of the paste applied to the paper can be altered according to the image forming region and the image non-forming region by this constitution, the paste can be more properly applied to the paper according to the image forming state.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously diverse and mutually directly continued lay-flat type book (Lay-Flat-Bucher), lay-flat type photobook and/or image book.SOLUTION: The lay-flat type book has a first module 21 consisting of a paper web supply station for supplying a paper web having a printing mark and a lateral cut station having a sensor for detecting the printing mark, a second module 22 having a streak supplying and folding station, a pasting station, and a cooling apparatus, a third module 23 consisting of a three-way cutting station, a cover supply station 24 for supplying and feeding a determined separate cover respectively, a combination station 25 for combining a binding block with the cover to be assigned thereto, a cover fixation apparatus for completing the book, a take-out apparatus for taking out the completed book, and a release station 26 for releasing the completed book.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for readily binding a photo album by using a photographic sheet, whereon an image and the like are printed, without the use of a dedicated device. SOLUTION: The bookbinding method for the photo album 1 employs the photographic sheet 21 which is about twice as large as the photo album 1 and whereon the image and the like are indicated, and a mount 22 which is almost as large as the photo album, which has shape retention characteristics and wherein an adhesion layer 23 and release paper 24 are laminated on its surface in sequence. In the bookbinding method, each of the photographic sheets 21 is folded in half to expose a backside 212; the directions of the fold sides of the photographic sheets 21 are aligned with one another; a photographic sheet stack 2 is created by laminating the respective photographic sheets 21 and the mount 22 while sandwiching the mount 22, from which the release paper 24 is peeled off, between the respective photographic sheets 21; and the photo album is bound in such a manner that the fold side of the photographic sheet stack 2 is positioned on a spine. Abstract:
A board book album having stiff pages constructed from layers of white board material and having “hidden pockets,” each pocket holding two photographs, back-to-back, that are framed in die cutout openings in each page. Spacers to which the backs of the spreads forming the pages are glued allow each page to accommodate the thickness of the photographs without damaging the outer binding. Each photograph is protected by a piece of clear plastic. Each page can have a small concave notch along its unbound edge in order to allow a user to turn the pages more easily. The cover can have a frame attached thereto for holding a photograph. The album is sturdy enough to be handled by a small child without the photographs being damaged.
