Abstract: The invention relates to a method for allocating elevator calls in an elevator system (10) comprising at least one elevator (12a-12c), which elevator system (10) is controlled by an elevator control (16) comprising a destination call allocation control, wherein passenger IDs are inputted into at least one I/O-device (20) of the elevator system (10), whereafter based on the passenger ID a destination call is issued comprising the floor of the I/O-device (20) as departure floor and a preset or inputted destination floor as destination floor of the elevator call. According to the invention when a new destination call is issued, it is checked whether or not a destination call is still pending under the same passenger ID, and if a destination call of said person is still pending, either the new call or the pending call is cancelled.

Abstract: An elevator car destination dispatching system and methodology are disclosed. The system includes a user interface that is configured to permit a user of a plurality of users to enter a desired destination in a building. The system further includes a presence detector disposed in the vicinity of the user interface. The presence detector is configured to detect the presence of the user of the plurality of users at the user interface. The presence detector is also operably coupled to a controller. The controller is configured to dispatch an elevator car based on the desired destination entered by the user of the plurality of users and the presence of the user of the plurality of users in the vicinity of the user interface.

Abstract: A signal transmission apparatus for an elevator in a multi-story building comprises a small number of signal lines which carry, in a time-shared fashion, hall call signal and hall call registration information for all floors. On each floor, one or more signal terminal means comprises one or more push buttons for entering hall calls and one or more indicator lamps for indicating that a hall call has been registered. A reference signal originates in a control unit and propagates through a ring counter with stages corresponding to each signal terminal means and each separate direction of travel, ascending or descending, supported therein. A signal indicating that a button on a given signal terminal means has been pushed is transmitted over a hall call signal line in synchronization with the reference signal to the control unit. A hall call reference signal generated by the control unit is transmitted over a register line and is received by a signal terminal means to which it was transmitted in synchronization with the reference signal. Error detection and indication circuitry in each signal terminal means detects error conditions which could casue erroneous hall call signal information to be transmitted over the hall call signal line and provides a visual display to permit quick and easy isolation of which of the several data terminal means in the signal transmission system is causing the erroneous hall call signals.

Abstract: In elevator journey prioritization often calls for larger groups are prioritized. This is often misused by placing elevator calls for larger groups that are actually travelling. This problem can be reduced by identifying the calling person when placing the call and again in the elevator. The number of people in the elevator can be estimated by using machine vision or weight-based approximation methods. When the number of passengers is not known the possible misuse can be suspected if a person places considerably more group calls as than average.

Abstract: Method for handling erroneous calls in an elevator system, which comprises at least one elevator (A, B, C, D), call-giving devices (1 10, 1 13, 151 ) for registering calls on the floor levels (F0, F1 - F10) and/or in the elevator car (150), and also a control system (101 ) that responds to the aforementioned calls. One or more calls given by a passenger are registered, it is assessed on the basis of at least one criterion whether some call is erroneous, and at least one corrective action is performed for removing a call, or for rectifying the call data of a call, if the call is ascertained to be erroneous on the basis of the aforementioned criterion.
