Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid particle having improved lubricant, a solid lubricant containing the solid particle, and a metallic member having the solid particle or the solid lubricant on its surface.SOLUTION: There is provided a solid particle having a carbon fluoride particle attaching to a surface of a base material particle.
Abstract:
A resin composition which exhibits good sealability while keeping creep deformation to a minimum when brought into sliding contact with a mating member at a high contact pressure of over 10 MPa, and which will not damage a mating member made from an aluminum alloy while sliding in contact with lubricating oil. The resin composition is a pressure-resistant, sliding tetrafluoroethylene resin composition containing 100 parts by volume of a modified tetrafluoroethylene resin in the form of a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and partially modified tetrafluoroethylene, 5-40 parts by volume of carbon fiber, and 2-30 parts by volume of calcium sulfate whiskers having a Mohs hardness of 4 or less, and having, at 100° C., a maximum deformation rate in 24 hours, of 15% or less. A seal device to be brought into slide contact with an aluminum metal is molded from such a pressure-resistant, sliding tetrafluoroethylene resin composition.
Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide solid particles with improved lubrication, a solid lubricant including the solid particles, and a metal member including, on the surface thereof, the solid particles or the solid lubricant. The solid particles of the present invention include base particles and carbon fluoride particles attached to surfaces of the base particles.
Abstract:
Lubricating compositions for use in the casting of steel, in particular in continuous casting processes are provided. Methods for making and using such compositions are also provided.
Abstract:
A solid lubricant and composition useful for lubricating the flanges of locomotive wheels, railcar wheels, rail tracks and in applications where it is desirable to reduce friction when metal contacts metal. The solid lubricant having from about 25% to about 70% by volume of a biopolymer polymeric carrier, about 5% to 75% percent by volume of organic and inorganic extreme pressure additives, about 0% to 20% by volume synthetic extreme pressure anti-wear liquid oil, and about 0% to 1% by volume optical brightener.
Abstract:
A method of making a lubricant is disclosed. The method includes providing a hard nanosphere having a size of less than about 500 nanometers. The method also includes exposing the nanosphere to a radiation energy to at least partially bond a functional agent to a surface of the nanosphere.
Abstract:
A threaded joint for steel pipes comprised of a pin 1 and a box 2 each having a threaded portion (1a, 2a) and an unthreaded metal contact portion (1b, 2b) exhibits adequate leakage resistance and galling resistance when used for makeup of oil country tubular goods with application of a green dope or even without any dope. The threaded joint has a first plating layer of Sn—Bi alloy plating or Sn—Bi—Cu alloy plating formed on the contact surface of at least one of the pin 1 and the box 2. The first plating layer may have a second plating layer selected from Sn plating, Cu plating, and Ni plating on its lower side and at least one layer of a lubricating coating, and particularly a solid lubricating coating, on its upper side.
Abstract:
An lubricant for electrophotography is applied to a latent image carrier that is supplied with toner having a sphericity of 0.94 or more. The lubricant for electrophotography is added with an inorganic additive having the following relationship: 2Y/1000≦X≦Y/10where Y is a toner particle size (micrometer), and X is an inorganic additive particle size (micrometer).

Abstract:
A method for treatment of bacterial infections with rifalazil administered once-weekly, or twice-weekly. A method for treatment of tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, infections caused by Mycobacterium avium complex, infections caused by Chlamydia pneumoniae and infections caused by Helicobacter pylori by administering to a patient suffering from the bacterial infection 1-100 mg of rifalazil once or twice a week. In this dose regimen, the treatment is fast, efficacious and eliminates undesirable secondary symptoms observed with daily doses of 1-50 mg of rifalazil.
