    Abstract: In known pressure impregnating devices, a chamber that becomes continuously narrower in the transport direction is located between a roller surrounded by the web to be impregnated and the inner wall of a trough which contains the impregnating medium. The impregnating medium is supplied to the chamber under high pressure, and that pressure is further increased in the chamber by dynamic effects. The high pressure causes sealing problems at the inlet and outlet slits, as well as at the front sides of the device.
