Die Erfindung betrifft ein Set aus Paneelen (1, 2, 3, 4), insbesondere aus Bodenpaneelen, umfassend Paneele (1, 2, 3, 4) mit einer ersten Kante (10), mit einer zweiten Kante (20), die der ersten Kante (10) gegenüberliegt, sowie mit einer dritten Kante (30) und einer vierten Kante (40), die der dritten Kante (30) gegenüberliegt, wobei jede Kante (10, 20, 30, 40) ein Halteprofil (11, 21, 31, 41) aufweist, das geeignet ist, mit einem Halteprofil (21, 11, 41, 31) der gegenüberliegenden Kante (20, 10, 40, 30) eines baugleichen Paneels eine Verbindung zwischen den Paneelen zu bilden, wobei das Halteprofil (11) der ersten Kante (10) oder das Halteprofil (21) der zweiten Kante (20) ein Verriegelungselement (50) aufweisen, das in einer Verriegelungsstellung einer Verriegelung in einer quer zu der ersten Kante verlaufenden Richtung dient und in einer Montagestellung das Zusammenfügen oder Trennen der Halteprofile entlang dieser Richtung zulässt, und wobei im verlegten Zustand ein erstes Paneel (1) und ein zweites Paneel (2) eine Reihe (X) innerhalb einer Verlegeebene (E) bilden, wobei Kupplungsmittel vorgesehen ist, durch die bei der Bewegung des Verriegelungselement (50) aus der Verriegelungsstellung in die Montagestellung zumindest ein bewegbarer Teil (52) des Verriegelungselements eine blockierbare Zwangsbewegung vollführt, wobei, wenn die Zwangsbewegung blockiert ist, das Verriegelungselement (50) in der Verriegelungsstellung gehalten wird und wobei, wenn die Zwangsbewegung nicht blockiert ist, das Verriegelungselement (50) aus der Verriegelungsstellung gedrückt wird, wenn die Halteprofile (11, 21) in besagter Richtung relativ zueinander bewegt werden.

A surface covering kit is disclosed, comprising a plurality of generally rectangular panels (100). Each panel is provided with grooves (301, 302, 301', 302') forming an insertion channel (303) when two panels (100) are laid next to each other along their transverse sides (105, 105') in a common laying plane (101). An extraneous locking element (210) is received by the insertion channel (303), the extraneous locking element (210) having a longitudinal dimension and a cross-section perpendicular to said longitudinal dimension which forms a cross with at least four cross arms. The corresponding cross arms of the insertion channel have two parallel flank surfaces (1603, 1604) each, and each of the cross arms is oriented diagonally in a plane perpendicular to the panel plane (102).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor panel having a long edge and a short edge provided with a mechanical locking system that can be installed through the inclining of the long edge.SOLUTION: Floor panels 1, 1' are provided with a mechanical locking system comprising a flexible tongue 31, in which at least a part of the flexible tongue 31 is configured to be displaced horizontally and essentially in only one direction from an initial position to a final outer locked position, configured to be twisted along the joint during locking, and configured to be displaceable essentially in one direction from an inner unlocked position to a final locked position of the floor panels 1, 1'.

A set of panels, especially floor panels, comprising panels with a first edge, a second edge opposite the first edge, and a third edge and a fourth edge opposite the third edge, wherein each edge has a supporting profile, suitable to forming with a supporting element of the opposite edge of a similar panel a connection between the panels, the supporting profile of the first edge or the supporting profile of the second edge having a locking element, which in a locking position serves for locking and in an installation position allows joining or separating of the supporting profiles along this direction, and in the laid state a first panel and a second panel form a row within a laying plane, while coupling is provided by which the locking element performs a blockable forced movement, and when forced movement is blocked the locking element is held in the locking position, and when not blocked the locking element can be moved from locking position if the supporting profiles are moved.
