Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a sub-flooring assembly. The disclosed assembly includes at least two rectangular sections. Each of the sections have first and second ends and first and second sides. A male component extends outwardly from the first end of each of the sections. The male component has a flange proximate a free end thereof. An opening is disposed on the second end of each of the sections. The opening extends into the section to form a cavity. A pocket is formed in the cavity. The flange of one of the sections is removably received in the pocket of another of the sections for detachably securing the first end of one of the sections to the second end of another of the sections.
Abstract:
An interlockable panel for forming a generally planar surface. Each panel includes a first surface positioned substantially in a plane and a second surface facing opposite the first surface and substantially parallel to and displaced from the first surface. Each surface has a perimeter defined by edges extending between the first and second surfaces. The edges may include male or female edges. Each male edge includes a tongue that extends outwardly from the male edge and a longitudinally extending void that extends inwardly of the tongue. Each female edge includes a groove having a protrusion position within the groove and extending outwardly from the groove generally parallel to the first surface. An adjacent panel may be linked to a fixed panel such that the tongue engages the groove and the protrusion engages the void. The invention also includes a method for assembling a generally planar surface using interlockable panels such as the above-mentioned. The method generally includes the steps of placing the first surfaces of adjacent panels within a common plane, and manually linking of the male edge of the first panel with the female edge of a second panel, by relatively moving the panels towards each other while maintaining said panels in a common plane.
Abstract:
A flooring module (100) for forming a temporary access floor comprises a base component (1) defining a cruciform channel formation (3, 4) for receiving cabling or the like. The channels (3, 4) have a floor (1A) defined by the base component and a removable channel cover (2). The channel cover (2) comprises one or more channel cover components for covering the channel formation, such that the channel formation and channel cover may combine to provide a closed channel for the cabling or the like. Removal of the cover (2) allows access to the channel formation from above, in use. The sides of the base component (1) define module connector clips (20, 21) for engaging with corresponding module connector clips on adjacent modules to lock the modules together in an array. The base component (1) defines retaining formations (13, 14) for engaging with and retaining the channel cover components over the channel formation. The channel cover (2) engages against one or more of the module connector clips (20, 21) when in the clips are in the closed position so as to limit deflection of the module connector clips (20, 21) and thus prevent disengagement of the module clips from the module clips of an adjacent flooring module in an array of flooring modules. The sides of the module preferably also include a plurality of levelling clips (41, 42) which define upward and downward facing engagement faces to prevent vertical misalignment of the modules.
Abstract:
A polymer foam underlay element (10) for flooring applications is provided imparting improved structural stability to the underlayment, each side of the underlay element comprising puzzle locking means (12, 14, 16, 18) engageable with the side of another underlay element having the same design. The puzzle locking means enable each underlay element to directly interlock with both four or six other underlay elements of the same design to form interlocking joints, the interlocking joints being directly observable from a top view.
Abstract:
A cladding system for cladding a supporting wall is disclosed. The cladding system includes a plurality of building blocks, each having a body and a facing; and a plurality of support brackets for mounting the blocks on the supporting wall in a plurality of adjoining horizontal rows. The body of each block includes engagement means for engaging at least one of the support brackets such that, in use, at least a part of the body of each block abuts at least a part of the body of a neighbouring block in an adjoining row so as to guard against water penetration between the rows.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The invention relates to a panel element (10, 12) for a covering (11), particularly a floor covering, wall covering or ceiling covering. This covering (11) has a number of similar interconnected panel elements (10, 12), and the panel element (10, 12) has a base (13, 15) with a thickness (D), this base (13, 15) having differently contoured longitudinal sides and differently contoured faces. One longitudinal side has a groove-like contour and the other longitudinal side has a tongue-like contour corresponding thereto. The faces are designed for locking with adjacent panel elements from above. A lower limb (16) protruding from the face of the base (13, 15) is provided on at least one face, and an upper limb (44) protruding from the face of the base (13, 15) is provided on the opposite side. A detent projection (30) is provided on one limb, preferably on the upper limb (44), and a detent opening (20) is provided on the opposite limb, preferably on the lower limb (16). The detent projection (30) protrudes from the limb by a height (h1). The ratio of the thickness of the base (D) to the height (h1) of the end of the detent projection is greater than 3.5.
